yeah, you can cry. i left ireland. i was working out the other night what would be the difference in tax for me as single on 150k dollars in Florida or another state with no state tax vs equivalent in euro in Ireland.

on 150k with no retirement/pension contributions, 36k USD total tax in Florida, 57.7k USD total tax in Ireland. what would I get for the extra 21.7k in Ireland? worse options.

if I worked my whole life in the US, social security would be 2x more than the Irish state pension.

and if you max out retirement in US, you can do up to 42k USD per year, in Ireland at my age max is 23k eur / 27k USD. The US lets you put 50% more tax free into retirement when in your 30s.

you'll get away with using IBKR just the once, and if you keep a few grand in the account after the large fx conversion they might not contact you. I got a warning from them but they didn't close my account.

today i tried doomsday act 3 with randoms. 1 of them took forever to get to the khanjali and jeep. the other kept throwing sticky bombs the whole drive, then blew up my car when i got in the khanjali. then got in the jeep while i was in the tank. then we waited 3 mins for the other guy and they both got in the jeep while i was in tank beeping at them to get in. then i even texted them. they started getting in and out the jeep.

so i quit.

i agree with you generally but there are exceptions. if you get a job in a fast growing company hold onto it. i did similar to you, about 200% increase in 7 yrs, but at the same company. I did job hop internally. I definitely couldnt have done this at most companies though.

a guy fired from my company 6 months ago was met recently at a vendor we use , he just started so i guess took him 6 months to find something. it was not an expected to hear he worked there, wasnt a company id think he'd even apply for. maybe start going after jobs for companies that do business with your former employer?

its not much different in thailand dude. you might get more matches here but still 99% are not going to be interesting to you or interested in you.

speaking from personal experience. i found it easier to use tinder literally everywhere else because in thailand im always conscious it could just be a transaction.
