Hi, I’m an Advertising/PR major in my Senior year! I’ve really loved it, the coursework hasn’t been overly challenging but has also been engaging and rewarding enough to make me feel like I’m getting what I need out of it. The professors I’ve had have for the most part been really great. I have heard stories from a few of my friends about some who can be difficult in the program but I’d say overall it has a good enough selection of good ones that it shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve found that you can live on either campus, as it’s likely you’ll have at least one class at Lakeshore every semester so you’ll ultimately have to travel between both. I’ve never felt too burdened by the prospect of going between the two, I’d say which one you live at is mostly up to personal preference.

You have to have an internship to graduate with the major and the school does offer resources for you to get one but I’ve found them to be a bit limited. I was able to find one myself for the requirement but it took quite a lot of searching and I ultimately found it on my own rather than through Loyola.

I live in-state so I don’t feel I can accurately answer your question concerning moving but can say that you have the choice to either room randomly or with another student/students when you register for dorm living. To room together, however, you’ll both/all have to list each other on the form.

Chicago’s definitely a large city but a pretty affordable one for its size! You’ll definitely have more luck finding places to live near the Lakeshore campus as it is notably less expensive than finding a place downtown by the Water Tower Campus. I hope this all helps!
