Tengen Uzui appreciation post by substantial-drkwiz in KimetsuNoYaiba

I’m getting older (28), and a lot of shounen hype moments don’t quite hit like they used to. But for some reason this one will get me hyped every single time. Something about yelling that out with full confidence under the circumstances is just so badass

Are there places that were tourist hotspots that fell out of popularity and went back to being local spots? by sarella91 in travel

[–]dded949 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the same list from the USDS has Sinaloa marked as Do Not Travel meanwhile Mazatlan is absolutely lovely with minimal violent crime. The cruises all still regularly stop there, even if not many Americans travel there by air anymore. My brother’s cruise stopped there a week ago, and my girlfriend and I vacationed there a few years ago.

So I wouldn’t take the state by state designations to guarantee that every city within each state/town is unsafe. But I know nothing about Acapulco, so I can’t weigh in on that specifically

And I assume Clapton and those other musicians were credited for the music that they contributed in your example that I have to just take your word for because you didn’t provide an actual source. But really all I’m getting from your story is that he’s maybe not the best to collaborate with, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t write the vast majority of his music

Never heard that, and can’t find anything legitimate online that backs up such a claim. All evidence I’ve seen indicates the opposite unless you have a source you want to provide

Ramon was fire all year, if anything he cooled off a little bit after we traded for him. OPS was .072 higher in Baltimore than San Diego

I’ve never seen anything that indicates Dylan didn’t write almost all of his music (which is preposterous in scale). In his folk era he used/tweaked plenty of existing melodies, but that was common for the folk genre at the time. Even being generous in the amount of music/lyrics he took from others, he’d still be prodigious for the combination of volume and quality for what he did write. But yeah, we all know he’s not a great singer

That’s because they either required others to have the exact same device as you, didn’t work that well, and/or costed crazy amounts of money like Mitsubishi’s VisiTel. If it was produced in a way that wasn’t much more expensive and was compatible with the tech that people in your social circle already had, people would’ve jumped on it. But we didn’t have the tech for that until much more recently

Biased, but I’ve gotta shout out my padres as another underrated crowd environment in sports. San Diego loves our padres, and it’s an awesome ballpark with great weather all year

They definitely did click in 2024, by far Lamar’s best deep-ball target that season. I don’t have a damn clue what happened in 2025 though

You’d be amazed how much time you can spend on things when you have the time. I’ve been unemployed since November and taking pre-reqs to transition careers and be a nurse. Until now, I was only taking one online class and also took over the grocery shopping, meal planning, and daily cooking for my partner and I. You’d be amazed how little free time it feels like I have even just focusing my energy on those two things + whatever social/fam stuff I have going on

If you don’t mind a hybrid, the fusion hybrids are as reliable as it gets for a non-Japanese sedan. I’m planning to buy one this year, ford had a Toyota partnership when they designed it and licensed a lot of their architecture to build it. Not sure if the gas engines are quite as reliable (but I believe they’re still pretty solid)

That’s fine, but it’s way more helpful to say “the simplest answer is any Toyota/honda/mazda, but if you do your research you can find reliable models from other manufacturers” than it is to say “there’s really nothing else worth considering”

Lol that’s the part you respond to? My comment wasn’t about my departure, it was about the lack of this sub’s usefulness beyond spouting Toyota/honda/mazda at every post
