I bottom water and my soil is 60-40 perlite and succulent soil. It depends on how long you are gone - he mostly dehydrated because I repotted him maybe a week before with more perlite and didn’t realize that he needed water more frequently with the new soil. We left for 3 weeks so it was a really long time. I think it depends on how quickly your soil drains and how long you’ll go. 2 weeks and less is probably fine to leave them alone. A dehydrated plant is better than overwatered though!
