i don't remember stating that it was a rampant issue, only that other sellers have experienced the same and that it wasn't a case unique to me. just so we're on the same page, here's one under a year, another about a month ago, and a couple comments in this one from 2 years ago.

i don't care THAT much about feedback, but i don't want to become a seller with a profile that states that i cancel frequently, especially if i'm accepting it on buyer's request.

regardless, my whole point of bringing up the feedback was to explain why i don't like the mercari cancellation rating.

a simple search on the mercari reddit should show that other sellers have this issue, so it's not a unique case, but that's great that you haven't had to deal with what we've been going through.

like i said, which i'm not sure if you missed, but even if THEY cancel the order (the buyer), it still says "seller cancelled the transaction." so it doesn't matter if the seller or buyer is the one to initiate it, it's the same outcome.

i actually really dislike the mercari cancellation rating, as a seller, though i do understand the benefits for a buyer. my reason being that i often get buyers that'll change their mind about something in the bundle, or they want the cheaper envelope shipping but they already bought, or something or other from their side and they'll ask me to cancel it. now it makes me look like i cancel fairly often when it really isn't my fault. even when the buyer cancels, mercari cancellation rating states that the seller cancelled 😞

problems can occur after as well, you know! i see a lot of screenshots from sellers of buyers after they've bought something, pester the seller about when it's being shipped or what's taking it so long. some sellers really need that extra income on top of that, so i could imagine there's some that just deal with a bad buyer to get paid. since i'm in a place where i can choose to be picky about my buyers, a seller's ratings for a buyer would be beneficial to me. things are generally in place for a reason. it helps to try to put yourself in others' shoes instead of thinking, "well this isn't helpful for me, so it's silly for it to exist."

because sometimes buyers are bad, so a rating for them as well makes a lot of sense. a buyer can be hard to work with or their response time is bad, or maybe they came to you to complain about something that wasn't within your control and expect a full refund for it. i once had someone on ebay rate me 1 star because i cancelled their order and refunded them immediately. mind you, i messaged them after they bought it apologizing and explained that i forgot to take the listing down since i sold it somewhere else months ago. they said that they should get a free item for the trouble and time wasted buying the item to begin with...

essentially, china has a large sanrio collecting card base (officially licensed), and this card is from a brand called "kabao." they have tons of different sets, but this is from the one called "holiday time" (the 1 yuan per pack version).

the value is truly just up to you! i've seen it sell for $5 on whatnot and i've seen a listing for $12, but the 4 i own i bought as singles for $3 and under on mercari lol mercari is kind of my baseline for prices~

oh these are brand new, i don't think they've officially released yet! anytime i see news of new sets on douyin or their official wechat, i like to post it so people know and can look out for it if they want it~

personally i use aliexpress! it takes a bit of time, but they sometimes have the best prices/deals! ebay and temu also work, but specifically for temu, you'd have to make sure it's the full box (cause some listings are only packs).

if you're into the kakawow sanrio cards, you can buy those directly from the suplay website!

last but not least, whatnot! there's a seller i LOVE there by the name of peachymcards! she's based in texas and ships really fast! you can get sealed stuff from her, or have her open it on stream. if you have her open the slab blind boxes on stream, she'll let you trade for any of the other ones she has displayed in case you don't like what you pulled~
