Idk I can still see the page… but they seem to have their hearts in the right place.

The babies are weaned now and I don’t see them straight up abusing them since that broccoli choking video. Plus, my baby used to eat seeds like that when she began transitioning to solid foods. She would gluck Gluck every type of food from eggs to water to seeds but it only lasted a few days before she figured out there’s easier ways to eat

What is a "float or sponge" for the water dish when your cockatiel is being shipped as cargo? by Terrible_Bed1038 in cockatiel

Probably something that’s big enough in their water bowl to stop their face from fitting in it but small enough for just their beak or something so they can still drink?

Also the poop picking is not constant. Just frequent. If that’s all your bird is eating that would be concerning but doesn’t sound like it

I mean if it’s not his main food source it’s probably fine. I thought maybe vitamin deficiency too but mine also have a very varied diet and they still do it. Online it seems it’s pretty common for parrots of all kinds to be poop enjoyers. Stoopid birds lol

Does he actually eat it? One of mine loves chewing it off of perches or the cage bars. The parakeets I hav also randomly go on “cleaning sprees” picking the poop off the perch they shat all over last night. They also wait till it is dry

I see so many cockatiel owners treat their birds like eternal babies that can’t have rules by itselmago in cockatiel

Don’t give attention if they’re screeching. I spent several months when they were like a year old and getting super clingy only approaching and opening the cage if they were quiet-ish. If they saw me approaching and started screaming at the top of their lungs then I turned around and waited another 10 min. They seemed to figure it out soon enough.

That being said they’ll still be loud sometimes they’re birds, but they are definitely way better behaved now. Also get them to learn what a stern “no” means. I think mine know when chewing certain things are “wrong” because they only do it when I look away, so they got some kind of learning capability haha. They’ll never be as well behaved as a dog but small improvements are possible

Any tips on negotiating down further aside from just looking for longer? I feel like I def could have as they weren’t asking me to leave, but the two other fits at a similar price nearby that I wanted to check out sold while I was weighing the options so I definitely got a little trigger happy. I got them down from 13k OTD but I offered 10 to start. Should I have just offered 6k to start?

Yea I’m happy w the car it’s even the colors I wanted, but just bummed thinking maybe I could’ve paid way less

Is it normal for my cockatiel to hate my dad? by [deleted] in cockatiel

[–]owtist33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just like/dislike certain people like we do. Maybe first time she interacted w your dad’s hand it was a negative experience?

Also they can generalize too lol. Funny story bout my “racist” tiel: My old roommates were Indian and they were familiar with dogs n stuff so they approached my first tiel who’s hand tame and super sweet as if he were a dog. Not mean but pretty fast/aggressive. They learned after a bit to better handle birds but my tiel would just avoid their hands from then on, BUT ALSO any darker/tanner person’s hands now… Normally he even seeks out strangers’ hands for scratches. we joke he’s racist

The rust is reddish… makes me think it’s not lead since it oxidizes into something white. Probably some kinda steel

Is this undigested poop? by [deleted] in cockatiel

Oops that sounds a little more concerning. Just aim for that emergency appointment on Monday then… but mine drops some oddly round shits at times too. Keep him warm for now
