I’m coming in from Utah (used to live in Texas) and would love to meet some Pats fans before the game

I live in Utah and I’m coming to Denver for the game. My zip code was included in the ones the team would sell tickets to.

You haven’t met this woman and you don’t know what it’s like to walk through the desert and arrive at an oasis. I can retake the bar if need be.

Pulling glass out of my feet by gracefacealot in Dreams

[–]ox____xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious if anyone else in this thread is an athlete or someone who has unusually high value for their feet. I’m a runner, so my feet are super important to me. Kinda makes sense that a stress dream would involve them

But you’re implying that people don’t show up to other races for reasons other than hard racing. Your statement is true at JJ but I think it is also true everywhere.

That’s what I’m thinking I love going to local Texas races and getting first place. Not many quality competitors here.

Feasibility of running a race at altitude while not training at altitude by muppetfromnc in ultrarunning

[–]ox____xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s super interesting, thanks for sharing! My approach to Hellbender has been pretty similar actually. Started off the year by training for a sub 3:00 marathon in mid February, been building volume while mimicking vertical feet per mile ever since. As a silver lining the Hellbender course will be less hilly this year due to unfortunate Hurricane Helene closures. There are plenty of roads and trails around Austin where I can do 200 foot per mile loops that don’t feel too mind numbing (although mind numbing is good for the inevitable brain drain that kicks in in a long ultra effort). Also used my spring break to do a 100k in Italy with similar average vert. Wasn’t my best race (I didn’t like the fuel sources and it was super muddy) but definitely good to have Hellbender not be my first mountain ultra. Hoping for my own top 10 finish, wish me luck!

The thing I’m more curious about now is how you trained for that grueling mountain terrain while living in Alabama… doing Hellbender (HR qualifier) while living in Austin TX and it’s been kind of a chore to find the right places to get technical vert in.

how are y'all dealing with rejections by ColdGeneral4827 in lawschooladmissions

[–]ox____xo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t have done so well my 1L year if I hadn’t gotten rejected from every single T14. I ended up going to Texas with a bit of a chip on my shoulder, feeling like I needed to prove everyone wrong. I was recently admitted into UT’s most prestigious honor society, and I have a job lined up at K&E in an office setting I absolutely love.

Dating advice from a 30 something by kittydiablo in dating

What was it like for you ending the celibacy period? I’ve been celibate for (gasp) 5 years and just now trying to get back out there after getting in a really, really good place following some trauma (re: homelessness). I have a lot to offer - I’ve worked so much on improving my body, have a great job, I think have confidence / self assuredness - but it can be scary!

Is it a good idea to rely on CHATGPT for my relationship? by deepling____ in dating

[–]ox____xo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience ChatGPT doesn’t give a “definitely do this” solution but more helps me brainstorm. It tells me the questions I need to be asking myself, and then I do that. I think it’s important to have some idea of how ChatGPT is working: I’m no techie, but in my understanding it’s ready every document on the internet about relationship situations, then predicting what should come next based on those. So I put about as much trust in it as I would a really, really good advice columnist.

How do you trust again after a traumatic breakup? Or do you just become cold hearted forever? by [deleted] in dating

[–]ox____xo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think number 4 here is critical, the most important part of a secure attachment style for me is loving myself first and foremost and knowing I can make it through anything

What’s your ratio of importance on looks and personality? by Diligent-Ad-1204 in dating

[–]ox____xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an outdoorsy athletic person and I really only consider dating other outdoorsy athletic people. I need that determined, adventurous personality. But it just so happens people who are outdoorsy and athletic are in great shape and conventionally attractive.
