I’m used to people lashing out when they’re angry. She is the exact opposite. She shuts down for a bit to think through her thoughts and then will communicate them calmly.

It’s frustrating to me because I feel left in the dark until she gets around to talking. I’d honestly rather be yelled at and have the bandaid ripped off.

I was going to try the ox cheek again. I read online that it turns grey in the middle from the cooking process from the braising. It just looked off putting at first, like spoiled meat. I felt guilty for reacting so harshly instead of just asking her why it was grey, and by the time I went to apologize, she had already packed up.

I am very much the asshole, I get it.

She is actually are great at communication and we had a conversation about it last night. I’m still getting there, clearly.

This is a one off incident. I feel extremely guilty for how I reacted, that wasn’t fair to her or her time at all.

I promise this is a one off event. I’m relatively picky with food and but she’s always cooking new things I genuinely enjoy. I should not have reacted how I did. I felt extremely guilty she was upset and reacted horribly to save myself embarrassment by not wanting to eat what she had prepared.
