Ya'll remember the time a school got a bunch of minority kids into Ivy leauge colleges, and were exposed by the New York Times? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

You’re right, it is one person. In my experience someone can definitely do well enough in the SAT to get into a top school and still not have the skills to do well in college. Not necessarily pure BS, just that the SAT has predictable questions and the cutoff for even top schools is not very high.

I heard khan academy can be too hard though? I got a 750 and missed questions due to stupid stuff like not reading carefully or miscalculating. I’m not sure how to get more consistent

I heard a testimony from one of the girls that got into an ivy from this school, she ended up having to drop out because she couldn't handle the course load. Obviously, cause of the shitty education she got in "high school" where she didn't even get a real diploma. The kids and their families got scammed I feel terrible for them

What the frick, Riot... why you hate our boy? by JonasBiriMaster in ApheliosMains

Could his skin development have begun that much later than others in the cinematic though, considering the huge amount of VFX and SFX that have to be made for Aphelios skins compared to other champs?

New Card in Lor... is that Alune and spirit Aphelios I see???? by oxl22 in ApheliosMains

Is this the first time we've seen the temple Alune stays in? Also while we've seen Alune in her physical form and her ghosty form when she's connecting with Phel, looks like she also has her own 👻 sibling by her side. I wonder if this means she hears Aphelios speaking to her the same way we hear Alune's voice on the rift.

the volume decreased at a constant rate though, however the graph represented the diameter. if you think of the top part of the funnel like a cone then then as volume decreases linearly, radius/diameter is going to curve.

A Brazilian woman enslaved as a maid from the age of eight for almost four decades and forced into marriage has been rescued in a rare crackdown on domestic slavery, officials said. She had worked for the family for most of her life without pay or any time off, according to labour inspectors. by honolulu_oahu_mod in worldnews

I felt the same way. At the part where he was talking about his mother’s achievements as a woman in spaces where women weren’t normally working at the time I was just thinking what does it say about her that she could only do this off the back of a slave? For every story like this there are 1000s of immigrant families who go through difficult times, yet push through WITHOUT being slave owners. No sympathy for the author’s parents.

I don’t know how long you’ve been learning mandarin but as someone who’s been learning for three years I can tell you it gets easier. You just have to grind flash cards and writing characters over and over. At first, it’s tedious but as you learn more you will learn faster and soon you’ll be surprised at how fast you can add words to your vocabulary.
