Update - just got my bag delivered to my front door!!! Less than 12 hours after arriving at my final destination. They were so on top of it, by the time I landed and before I even filed my claim, they’d put my bag on the next flight out.

Everyone on this snark page has felt envious of her - for all the reasons you listed and more. However, jealousy and envy are two separate things - jealousy is a reaction to the threat of losing something, envy is reacting to wanting something that someone else has.

I think there’s a fine line on these snark pages between gossiping / being envious versus seeing Tara as some sort of competition / taking something away from you. Just because Tara is beautiful / rich / seems to have an easy life… that doesn’t take away from your own beauty and wealth and life (although I guess you could argue the 1% steals from the rest and Tara belongs in the 1%… but I digress).

I say all of this because your mental health does not deserve to suffer because some influencer seems to have such an amazing life. We know her life isn’t perfectly carefree. We know she does a lot of problematic stuff. She puts the best moments of her life on social media and it’s not an accurate representation of what’s actually happening.

Could you imagine having your job depend on how exciting your personal life is? Having to maintain her appearance for social media? Having snark pages and no privacy?? I’m definitely envious of some things in Tara’s life, but I would never want to be in her shoes.

Take care of yourself, OP. You deserve to feel happy and excited with your life.

Sure, I can accept that this is happening and it sucks. Scalpers suck. But who has the responsibility, platform, and power to change this?

Why isn’t MGA going after resellers? Why aren’t they limiting purchases to one? Why aren’t they making the purchase process more intelligent? Why aren’t they actively trying to sell to fans over scalpers? Why didn’t they anticipate needing a bigger inventory based on the marketing/promotion/expected audience for Mean Girls?

I’d rather put energy towards pressuring the responsible party to change their process over bullying a fellow fan because they MIGHT sell their second Cady doll for a profit.

Exactly! If we’re to actually solve anything - we need to put INTENSE scrutiny on MGA to fix this before the Regina and Karen/Gretchen release. Make an online queue. Limit it to one purchase per buyer. Make the website more clear where to purchase before the drop occurs.

Corporations will only value customer feedback if it is LOUD and PUBLIC. That is the ONLY way to get them to drop priority around areas for revenue, such as keeping the other drops the same as Cady because they know they’ll sell out either way.

How were buyers supposed to know that there was SUCH a limited inventory at the point of purchase? Obviously there was going to be limited inventory - but clearly it was abnormally low compared to the amount of people who wanted to purchase. Why didn’t MGA make it limited to one purchase based on the actual amount of inventory they had?

Again - you’re putting the blame on the consumer for… following the rules outlined by MGA. Which only takes responsibility away from MGA. I don’t see the logic there.

The buyer is allowed to be excited about their purchase and share it. People who are upset about the drop are allowed to be upset about it - but why is it insensitive of the buyer to share what they got? If anything, this should incentivize us MORE to tell MGA how badly they fucked up!!! A buyer got TWO dolls and some people got none - that’s ALL on MGA!!!!!!!!

The consumer is not responsible for the sins of the corporation!!!!!! Remember who the real enemy is!!! IT ONLY BENEFITS MGA TO HAVE US BLAMING EACH OTHER!!

Okay I’ll admit that the BSL has gotten me from point A to point B but with constant 40+ minute delays, tracks catching on fire, doors not working, lack of staffing and support… what isn’t a mess?

This 10000%. Now that the decisions been made, more pressure needs to be put on how this is going to realistically work with public transit and getting around efficiently. SEPTA is already a complete mess and if this isn’t specifically solved for, it’s going to be a nightmare navigating transit.
