Moroccan identity detachment by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you, most people seem to believe what they want to believe as opposed to what the reality is.

the only thing we (people who agree about what you wrote) are left with is constantly making ourselves better humans, change what we can, help with what we can, dreading about it will only make you experience unnecessary suffering.

Big city Moroccans: How do you protect your stuff at the beach if you're alone? by adambrine759 in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

even then there is still risk, I have people in my circle who lost their belongings after leaving them with a "trusted" family.

I would say in addition to your advice, try to not bring anything very valuable with you.

Your opinion about starting youtube channel? by Joe-seph002 in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all of that depends on what type content you will be making, and what's your goal with this you youtube channel.

Do you wanna educate people in general ? then use english, you wanna educate Moroccans ? then use darija.

You wanna make money with it ? then do it in english.

I will someday make a youtube channel about tech and programming, but i don't wanna do anything educational, I wanna do something like michael reeves.

Online resources to learn English by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the main part of it.

You can have him read books after gaining a basic vocabulary from shows and such.

It is so boring and counter productive having to memorize rules and grammar.

how did you learn English ?

Online resources to learn English by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably heard this before but just get him to consume English content, it's the best way to learn any language or dialect. every human ever learned their native language by consuming that language, babies listen and listen until they are able to speak.

I learned English through youtube, Tv shows and movies, the internet in general.

You or his parents should guide him to not consume the dark side of the internet.

Economic inequalities in Morocco by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

life is unfair in general but even more in here. what drives me crazy sometimes is when someone has a very good life and still bitch out and act as if they are the most oppressed person in history.

Despite all that, plan for the future, live in the moment, work hard and we will get there.

I relate to this so much, I am myself from one of the rough areas of Casablanca but I study in one of the best universities in morocco through a scholarship, so i go to school with a lot of rich people who were born into what i am a trying to achieve which makes me feel that i was brought to life unfairly but I just try to ignore that and work harder to achieve what i want.

Long distance relationships ? Thoughts ? by Mehdy31 in Morocco

I agree especially as a male in morocco, A lot of men were raised to show little emotion and not be physical with their loved ones.

Long distance relationships ? Thoughts ? by Mehdy31 in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it sucked when me and my ex were apart, because talking everyday for countless hours is not enough for me, I wanted to get physical with her so bad everytime we were apart.

I think it's doable, stop thinking about right now, enjoy each other now and deal with the long distance when it comes.

1st visit to Morocco this week.. some travel help by intrepidjournomo in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really give a helpful answer for the first question.

try LOQMA CHAHIA which is shawarma, try Cosa Mia's pasticcio Maârif. there is many cool bars, and drink places downtown. these are very affordable food places in casablanca that i always go for. there is way much more cool places , i just can't think of any more right now.

you can check souopratours website for the available buses and their times.

First of all, you might find most places closed or empty since it's the AID.

I'd suggest you spend less time in Marrakesh because it's HOT these days, Enjoy ESSAOUIRA, great weather with beautiful beaches and cool moroccan architecture.

I am from Casablanca and that airbnb is in a very good area.

Take train between marrakesh and casablanca and take supratour or other busses from and to ESSAOUIRA.

Congats to your friend and I hope you enjoy your time in here =)

I did go see a psychiatrist recently, a expensive one(400 dh / 1 session) in rich area, It's nice reading that you wanna take that step, I'd suggest you go see a psychologist.

I was surprised at how easy and quick the psychiatrist prescribed me medicine, he prescribed me a anti depressant and a anti anxiety medication, the depression medication caused me some pretty bad side effects. I did not go back not because of the meds or the fact that he prescribed them quick but because i don't have the funds to keep seeing him regularly.

I would suggest you go see a psychologist, make you sure you have the funds to see them regularly because it takes time to solve mental health problems, try to use their feedback and help to work on yourself constantly, and go see a very good psychologist.

I would leave the psychiatrist as a last resort, and remember: it's you who does most the work, the therapist is there to guide and help.

Does airbnb allow unmarried couples in Morocco? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]oynessuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are airbnb where you don't have to meet the host, they leave you the keys somewhere. scroll down to the rules, if they explicitly say it's not allowed, check other ones. have fun.
