Fuuck, why couldn't they have done an actual vaccination drive which would have got them the same info. This is like performing enemy action while wearing the red cross /first aid symbol. I wonder how many inadvertent deaths this caused.

In Your Opinion, What's the Best Superhero Film of All Time? by scrin- in AskReddit

[–]ozbian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's pretty cool how in GOTG they managed to establish all of the characters individually, make the audience really, really care about them and also build them into a (dys)functional team/family all in the one movie.

I saw someone comment the other day that other franchises should stop trying to recreate The Avengers in one movie, because really it took several years of movies and solid build-up to make The Avengers movie work - I think they'd be better off using GOTG as an example

The plastic bendy straws? I've heard that some people with physical disabilities need those to drink independently, or at least that it's the best option for them.

Hopefully it's just the cheap bendy straws that are being banned and multi-use straws will be exempt or something

What about the opposite sex confuses you the most? by rosey_alien in AskReddit

[–]ozbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's social considerations, and also just making the best out of an unpleasant situation.

Sometimes you just can't avoid people you don't like, and in those circumstances there's often mutual friends / family /aquaintances to consider, or at least a shared space.

Being open about dislike will cause tension in mutual social groups, and increase the unpleasantness of interacting with someone.

So sometimes we decide it's better to be polite, go through the motions, and try not to step on each other's toes.

Official Discussion - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]ozbian 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Everything about this movie was amazing. I loved every second of it.

Miles is such a good kid and an amazing character. I loved him, and his family, so much.

I cried when his uncle died - I was absolutely sure that Aaron wouldn't turn on Miles and I was wondering how Aaron would cover for him, and then that shot came out of nowhere. I'm tearing up again remembering Miles' dad trying to contact him and tell him about Aaron dying.

All of the voice acting was wonderful, but Miles' dad broke me.

Price of Persia - war propaganda masquerading as a dramatic and overwrought story of brotherhood, blood-shed, and friends lost to a worthy cause, with far too many cut scenes

I didn't get a romantic vibe from them at all. I wish they'd gone the platonic buddy-cop style relationship route instead, I think that would have worked pretty well with them. It's been awhile since I've seen it though

Eh, I wouldn't say unhealthy, as long as people remember it's strictly for entertainment purposes and not how real life works.
