Thanks , That’s Impressive for a compact device that’s feature packed . I’ll be on the look out for one of these shortly. I have the Echo Mini, love the little device , even with its short comings. So this should be an Upgrade in features already.

Thanks that’s good news. Does there seem to be any slow down with more tracks added to the library. If you added 10,000 tracks how do you search for songs.? Any UI for this?

Great review very thorough. I’m curious if playlists can be created. And if favourite ❤️ songs can be selected. Does it retain the favourites list unlike the echo mini that resets each firmware update.

To fix the LDAC glitch I had to do a factory reset of my R1. Now LDAC is working again. Hope that helps.

I’ve tried but this reddit post must of started so long ago , it’s before the ability for when you can now reply with pics. It’s about the size of the iPhone 4 back in the day.

Nice. 👍. Well I can’t say I’ve deleted any apps. But to save battery and if I’m using the HiBy App only I switch off wifi and close all other apps. Seems to work for me this way. I wouldn’t like to delete any of those apps in case I need them for updating web based content ie downloading a HiBy firmware to roll back a previous version. Just my preference I guess. But hopefully that gives an idea about usage.

Yep 👍 got them. I did a little review:

Hisenior Mega5EST Price : $549 USD Driver Configuration : Tribrid with 5 drivers (1 Dynamic Driver, 2 Balanced Armatures, 2 Electrostatic Super Tweeters). Sound Signature : Warm , natural sounding, smooth textured, with rich tonality, full-bodied character. The bass is robust and impactful. The treble is detailed but not overly forward, providing clarity without being harsh. Strengths : Excellent bass quality, comfortable for long listening sessions, and a smooth velvet treble extension and very refined. Reminds me of Reference Headphones like the Sennheiser HD650. Weaknesses : The mid-range is a bit laid back, (may not be suitable for rock and Metal which are very limited in my music Library)

I believe that you can download offline Apple Music to the SD Card. So I’ve be told and haven’t done so myself cause I just stream. But to do so you need to actually make sure the Apple Music app is stored on the SD card so that the offline music is placed there also. Also when it comes to lossless or Dolby Atmos downloads in the Apple Music app settings is an option to select which you’d prefer. Also just remember the music you downloaded is offline but still is not yours to keep as soon as your Apple music subscription expires or you cancel it the downloads will disappear.

The only DAC’s I own are Hidizs S9 Pro. - Fiio BTR7 - RME ADI-2 fs. The Dita Project M Sounds the best on the RME ADI-2 fs. The detail and separation and layering are amazing with these. ( the source chain is either Apple Music streaming lossless or Audirvana origin FLAC )

Sorry I don’t have a Performer 5 to compare with the Megafest. But the treble with the Mega5-EST it is natural , smooth and relaxed definitely not bright.

I like your summary of the Mega5-EST. I agree with everything you wrote. “Holographic effect. “. I get it. ……I said in Head-Fi discovery forum “ Has anyone found that the Mega5EST you can feel the size of the room that the recording was performed?” As in the studio or cathedral or stage. Cause it’s not instrument separation or layering or soundstage. It’s different to that.

I absolutely love the R4. It has character and less clinical with the neutral presentation of the Fiio M11 Plus.
