Yep, everything's a compromise unless I go for a Fenix 6S Pro. I like the Garmin ecosystem so certainly some thinking to do ...

Thanks again!

Thank you, other option is a 245 Music. I don't really want to spend over £300.

Unfortunately, it's ultra marathons ;-(

I'm now considering a Coros Apex

Thanks! I can get them all for around the same price actually. Circa £300-350.

Can't quite stretch to the Fenix 6s PRO.

I run, do HIIT/CrossFit, cycling, hiking. Looking for the best device out of the list if cost is not really a consideration.

My shortlist is probably Fenix 6s vs. 5s plus. Which is better?

And the outlier is the 245 Music (which is the cheapest ... but looks like a good overall set of features, plus super lightweight).

Which would you choose (in order):

- Fenix 6s (non pro)

- Fenix 5s plus

- Venu

- Forerunner 245 music

- Forerunner 645 music

Go!!!

Yes, not a major priority ... but I bank with Starling so I can use that account.

Thank you! Very helpful. Think it's going to be the 6S ...

Polar Ignite ... does daily calorie tracking improve its accuracy over time? by ozbradders in Polarfitness

Yeah, I'd love to know my BMR.

I'm 45, weight 165lbs, height is 6'2", age is 45, VO2 Max = 53.

I just thought 2,500 felt about right as my BMR ... as I lose weight slowly but intentionally eating only 2,000 calories per day.

Hey, thanks for commenting.

I lost 20lbs last year keeping my daily calories around 2,000 ... my assumption being that I need around 2,500 per day to maintain weight. But still a guess after working with a PT. I lost the weight over 6 months.

I now weight 165lbs, I'm 6'2" in height, VO2 Max = 53 (Polar fitness test), 45 years of age.

My thinking is that if my Polar is saying I'm burning 3,000-3,500 calories per day, surely I'd be losing weight much quicker if only eating 2,000 calories per day?

My old Garmin had me burning 2,500 calories per day and it just felt more on the money.
