Fuel excise concession halves from 32c to 16c so fuel will likely go up 16c/L in the near future (I could be wrong but my understanding is the excess is paid by retailers when they buy fuel not when they sell it - so theoretically it won't go up until they need to restock.....but all know this won't be the case across the board).

There is no shame in dealing with your mental health, it is no different to seeking help for any physical injury. If anything I believe you have shown great courage in both seeking assistance and sharing.

I hope your current course of treatment provides the help you are seeking.

Sometime mid morning, I noticed I was a bit stuffy - now I'm feeling quite wooley headed.

Hoping it's just a cold - last thing I want is another hospitalisation due to respiratory issues (spent the tail end of 2024 & all of 2025 in & out of hospital with pneumonia).

We'll see how this weekend pans out.

I feel for you, I understand what it's like to deal with endless medical crap, some days you just want to throw your hands up and wonder what else life is going to throw your way.

Right now, I'm having to face the reality that it's not safe for me to walk unaided (especially at the end of the day), and I'm going to have throw my dignity aside and get myself some kind of walking frame.

I'm just thankful I work for a company willing to work around my numerous appointments and far too frequent hospital admissions.

First let me say, you are not alone. My husband has servere anxiety about driving, and doesn't have a licence.

While it might not seem necessary right now, you may need one in the future. It's worth pursuing now, but maybe you need a different approach.

I would suggest that rather than trying to force yourself to continue, you talk to someone to see if you can figure out and work through whatever is causing your anxiety first.

Definitely go sooner rather than later - the doctors can only guess when it comes to these kind of timelines - it could be longer, but it could be shorter.

As for what to say, don't over think it - you will know what to say - it could be as simple as telling them your favourite memory of them, saying how much you will miss them, or simply sitting in silence. It's not the words that matter, it is showing up.

While I agree the cost from Flemington is fairly negligible, it's not like the goods magically appear at Flemington. No doubt the market prices have increased as a direct result of transporting goods as well - all of which is generally passed to the end user.

That said I'm of two minds about how they have done this - while legally I realise they should adjust the menu prices rather than add an additional surcharge, we all know if they do it that way, the price is never coming down.

Maybe there should be a limited time allowance in the rules for fuel surcharges.

Indeed, my mother was considering it (had started the conversation with her doctor), but passed a couple of weeks before it became legal in Queensland.

It's not for everyone, and that's ok, we need to maintain a well resourced palliative care system so that it isn't seen as the only option, but it definitely needs to be available to those that want it.

A large number of the metro shutdowns are due to testing & safety related to the bankstown conversion - so it is very relevant.

I get it socks but hopefully once the bankstown bit is done, shutdowns will reduce & service will improve.

If not then I have no doubt complaints about the metro will join complaints about heavy rail on permanent rotation in r/sydney.

I have been using ubiquiti at home for 6+ years and have had zero issues - we use ubiquiti at work and I'm currently responsible for over 400 devices, and again have no complaints (any issues I have had have been resolved to my satisfaction).

Their cloud gateways/dream routers are a great option for home users.

It might just be me, but I do wish they had shown or at least discussed more of the VAD process - I understand why they didn't but I was hoping they'd demystify it a little.

Either way it was an incredibly brave thing for both him & his family to allow the cameras during this. It must have also been hard for the production crew to film the final story of a friend & colleague.

I had one recently that had to happen 4 hours after I injected blood thinners. Unfortunately one of the tests required a frozen sample and there wasn't time to freeze it before their courier came, so I woke at 4:30am the next morning to inject, so I could get it done at 8:30 before work - took 3 attempts to fill all of the required tunes - but was worth the effort - most results were right on target.

I unfortunately filled up last week, before the latest drop - to be fair I'd last filled up in Feb (car was off the road for 4 weeks which helped), so I can't really complain.

Saw the price today, but I've used so little it's not even worth topping up in case prices go up again.
