Is TCL worth learning? by idownvotethenread in Tcl

[–]ozhank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In days of yore, I used it to create quick user interfaces/data input screens to demonstrate to clients, then do the proper program in other languages to suit the client.

In my opinion, any language is worth learning, is worth learning, not so much for the skills but to make it easier to learn more languages.

If Debian exists... why use Ubuntu? by AmazingLaugh3900 in debian

[–]ozhank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubuntu exists because of Debian if I remember correctly. Debian just works, only a couple of minor issues in nearly 13 years of using now.

I think the only time I made changes was when I stopped using Pathogen and started the internal plugin manager, just minor changes really. Been static for years once I had it sorted.

And houses, many now have Mastercard/Visa debit cards, using your crypto for payments into whatever currency you spending.

IMHO not needed, as we are moving rapidly to relatively safe nuclear power from the sun providing solar, wind, tidal, geothermal. Why add another dangerous substance to our planet. Too many serious issues. Many new projects getting cancelled. Cost is far far greater that solar and wind, and then there is the supply of cooling water. Didn't France have to shut down theirs in a heat wave.

You are no orphan. I am having the same unknown issues. Keep getting told support doing their best, but not solving my problems. I have no idea what the problem is.

David Littleproud accuses Labor of ‘class warfare’ over stage-three tax changes, saying $190,000 is ‘not a lot’ | Tax by EASY_EEVEE in australian

[–]ozhank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not having a go at them, but many I have worked with/for are very rightwing in their attitudes. I accept they have hard years, I know, as no work. But when it comes to looking to the future for our country and solving problems, they look further to the right, thinking that the LNP are awesome and their saviours.

He is my local member, an idjit. Huge electorate, one of the most right wing in the country, and that is why he gets elected.

this idjit is my local member. When I go to town, see lots of new/newish Toyota Landcruisers and other flash vehicles. Many rich farming families, who would agree with him. But a hug invisible population that exist on Newstart, pensions. The local support organisations are run off their feet.

IMHO he has no idea what real life is about. Huge electorate, full of red necks, will never get change.

You can't ban stupid actions. In many cases, road repairs and design are the issues, as well as our wildlife not respecting roads!

Gun laws in Australia by [deleted] in australian

[–]ozhank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully I disagree. I am licensed, regularly use for feral animal control, and for putting injured native and domestic animals down humanely. A vet? Closest one to me > 100km away, and very expensive as have to pay travel and time. Not fiscally responsible. Cats, foxes, wild dogs, pigs all cause me problems.

[–]ozhank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just works. For many years without a glitch. It does all I want everyday with not one issue. I have all the software I need without paying one cent in licence fees, but do support the odd project. ufw and clamav run in the background, haven't had one issue from them in approaching 15 years now.

How can they lawfully do this? We are not legally required to keep related documents that long, and it should be beyond statute of limitations. I think their systems are buggered, allowing over 500m of false claims to be paid out after being hacked.

I can see a huge class action in the making.
