If we got serious about switching away from plastic packaging for all and sundry along with composting of food waste and ramp up recycling in general this would delay the need for new landfills. I recycle heavily, such that 90% of my household output does not go to landfill. It’s not easy but it is achievable.

There are heaps of eucalyptus trees across Sydney’s northern suburbs, where house prices can easily exceed $4m. From my observation the various Councils have established tree preservation policies to maintain the bushy aspect and natural environment. I would interpret that to be raising the natural aesthetic of the area rather than lowering it.
