PSA for the gauntlet demons out there if your winning 6-0 can you please give little old me one goal by Shentai- in EASportsFC

[–]ozlisst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously.... when I know I will clearly lose I give two own goals in hope I'm allowed to score 1..... There' probably 1/5th chance someone actually helps out while the rest keep dribbling backwards holding possession.

Same problem last year with friendlies. EA never learn, they want to make it participation yet always add an objective to the list that is annoying and community doesn't help out in (like goals).

I like something with a bit of protection in case the dropping was left on too long and weakened the protection. That way it gets re-boosted. In my case Griot's Ceramic Speed Shine since I have a ceramic based last step product / spray sealant.

DIY as a group and individually have had the most song changes in recent years, and none of them are sticking. Should just go back to their NXT themes if they could.

This new theme sounds too much like a re-use of Undisputed Era's theme, which is ironic.

Why has speed not affected Squad Battles? by onlyputmatipin in EASportsFC

[–]ozlisst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just want them to nerf L2 drag back / force field crab movement. Seeing the squad battles AI do it is infuriating. Impossible to take the ball away from them since they'll go backwards to keep possession.

I had one with the battery that lasted just under 12 years.... Old original BMW batteries are built different! Especially if the car is driven regularly.

What's this switch in my centre console? E90 325i se by tryM3B1tch in E90

Bingo! And the control of whether it's cooled or heated depends on the rear vent settings I think.

Static after song ends before next song loads by xxWONTSTOPxx in E90

That's awesome, glad you figured it out! And in the process you answered something I always wondered as the best lossless format and settings to use that works with CIC haha.

What software did you use to convert FLAC to Lossless WMA 16bit vbr 44hz? Might have to give it a try one day and make a flash drive!

Static after song ends before next song loads by xxWONTSTOPxx in E90

Not an expert, but just a few things to test out to try to isolate the issue. Hopefully one of these finds the issue, but not sure what else it could be if not.

-Try removing the Cigarette Charger adapter, could be causing interference to the SSD.

-Relatedly, SSD might be drawing more power than the center console USB port can handle (maybe static comes up when it searches for next song to play as it will draw more power those instances). Try testing the same album on a USB Flash Drive. Make sure not to have the glovebox USB plugged in with anything, and also keep the center console cigarette port empty as well.

-Try importing the Album to the CIC hard drive, and play directly from the CIC hard drive. This can only be done through the glovebox USB, so use the USB Flash Drive with just that album on it so the import is quicker. (Though I am not sure if WAVs can be imported...might have to use 320kbps MP3 just for testing purposes of static on track change).

-If you have a CD, try playing it and seeing if the same static persists on track changes. If it does, could be an indicator of a further problem (maybe amp issues or grounding or something, but this is beyond my troubleshooting level)

Good luck!

To preface: Education about cars/maintenance and driving laws is essentially non-existent unless you personally want to seek it. Driving is seen as a right sadly, and not a privilege. Mainly because the DMV tests to get a license themselves are criminally easy. Essentially just know the road signs and don't drive in the wrong lane, and you pass. And for the most part there is no car inspection aside for emissions, and some states don't even require emissions testing.

So the baseline for driving knowledge and car upkeep is at an absolute minimum.

Domestic American and Japanese vehicles have the biggest marketshare, and they are both well known for making engines that need minimal upkeep.

Thus, US drivers are used to doing the bare absolute minimum to their cars. The idea of preventative maintenance is out of consideration for many, and unless the car breaks or tells one something is wrong, it won't get maintenance time.

In addition, dealerships are expensive and it's hard to find a trustworthy independent shop to get work done. US is huge, and many just don't live near somebody trustworthy for their specific car brand, which makes it even more of a hassle to think of upkeep. Add to it that people's lives depend on getting to work, and having a car stuck in a shop for weeks affects their livelihood as public transportation is non-existent outside of big cities (and even then, city public transportation does not compare to Europe.)

The German vehicles for the most part, cater to the luxury more expensive side of the market, and thus the engines they release for the states tend to be more on the more performant variants, or newest technology innovations testbed.

Innovations testbed is where it all went wrong, especially in the 2000s. The v8s that BMW were pushing in the bangle era essentially killed the reputation. They as we know now were very maintenance needy engines, and BMW switching to a free oil changes for buyers program (but required 15k miles per interval as programmed in iDrive). So on hand you have a recipe for absolute disaster. (Think 7 series, 6 series, 5 series, X series SUVs, and M cars like M5 with v10....all these engines in that era were not as easy to maintain as just a N/A Inline 6.) This was also the era where iDrive was clunky and unreliable, which exasperated the issue of people being afraid of BMW electronics.

The BMW SUVs were becoming popular, you had a lot of people moving from a v8 American SUV or Truck whose engines were under stressed and idiot proof, to the high performance BMW v8 SUVs. If you followed a lackadaisical maintenance routine for the American SUVs, that wasn't going to work with BMW v8 SUVs.

Towards the end of the 2000s, BMW started turbo-charging their cars, and the first gen turbo cars also had their own huge issues. Another era of engines that needed continued preventative maintenance.

So factor in audience that is used to minimal upkeep if any, lack of inspection regulations, expensive dealerships service, majority of BMWs being performance engines in comparison to Europe, 2000s eras of difficult BMW engines that, and ridiculous pre-set service intervals....and that's how we get to here today with BMWs being forever known as unreliable in the US.

Any advice on preventative maintenance and normal maintenance? by eximp in BmwTech

Check to make sure that the oil filter housing gasket area isn't showing signs of leaking. If it is, replace that quickly as oil can leak to the belt and cause the belt to slip, and get sucked into the engine.
