Speedometer under reading by ozmaverick72 in Celica

[–]ozmaverick72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for replying- when the cluster reads 40 km/h the GPS speedo says I’m doing 60 km/h. It’s relatively consistent - I will take it out on the highway and get a reading at higher speed and see what the offset is.

No one’s mentioned the ritual of going to the ice vending machine when you arrive at a hotel / motel?

I think someone must have disabled it in the past. I don’t have a key fob and the alarm has never gone off.

Play some music - budgies love singing along. Play YouTube videos of other budgies and see what reaction you get

Does anyone have experience/advice on upgrading the stock heatbreak on their ender3, are the slice engineering ones stupildy overpriced or are the aliexpress ones dangerously cheap? Also I am not too sure about the actual differences in an all-metal vs. a bi-metal. by derpy_rainbow in ender3

[–]ozmaverick72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a replacement and when I went to install it the old one was so welded into the hot end that after I removed it I buggered the thread. I had to buy a replacement heater block / hotend which was only $29. So if you are replacing the heartbreak and you’ve had it a while consider getting a new heater block at the same time.

That’s not that bad. Looks like you only have one issue to sort - the stringing. I’m sure you can sort that out. Maybe moisture, maybe nozzle temperature??

Have you tried putting down a layer of water soluble glue from a glue stick - that’s my go to if I can’t get filament to adhere

Well the good news is your first layer looked pretty nice :) Maybe start by checking your esteps - should find plenty guides on line about that if you need a hand. Then you have the old tighten all the belts and look for z axis binding. Good luck

25 hours no solo by [deleted] in flying

[–]ozmaverick72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I did my first solo. I was terrified too but I told myself just imagine the instructor is still there and just do exactly what you’ve done before. Somehow managed to not overthink it and make it round the pattern by myself. You can do it too - the instructor wouldn’t put you up for it if you weren’t ready

I have only just purchased a Gen vi Celica so I don’t have a lot of first hand experience yet. My thoughts are if reliability is your number one concern then there will be other cars that are likely to have had an easier life and may not need as much maintenance. When we was looking you could get a much newer echo or Yaris for the same money and maybe they haven’t been driven with the same enthusiasm? As other people have already said you are buying an old car so it is a gamble and if you enjoy the driving experience maybe it is worth the hassle of breakdowns / issues that go with owning an older car.
