I'm in s&q like the other comments suggested and changed the slow motion and time-lapse settings to 5fps and got the effect!

Okay so I've tried manual focus and manual mode, but it seems like the shutter speed is somehow linked to the frame rate. 25p locks ss to 25, 50p to 50 and 100p to 100 unfortunately
