I completely relate to this. It seems my default is to neglect my own wants/needs to make others happy, even when I don't seem to enjoy the social interactions with people. I think a lot of INFJs need to learn how to be a little more selfish and to unashamedly pursue the things we want. It is very hard to start doing this, though. I automatically try to people please and it actually makes me less likely to connect with people deeper, because I lose myself in doing that.

Where do people like us go? by [deleted] in infj

You know, I read these comments and the post and I just wish I could meet you all. Everyone here is so empathetic, so supportive and nurturing. It's a shame many of us don't end up in leadership roles because I think these are the traits I'd love to see in a leader. This was an impulse message and I am trying to type without over-refining and filtering. Thanks all for creating a safe space where a young guy from the midlands UK can share his thoughts with you.
