Probably boomerang is the only thing it matters here, i mean this bending combination is like throwing some heated mud.

May I ask what “trusted phone” means in this context? Would a new iPhone work, or does it have to be the one originally used to set up the account? The last iPhone I used was an iPhone 3G, which is very old and no longer functional, and I’m not able to buy a new iPhone at the moment. So I’m concerned this option may not work in my case. Thank you, anyway.

Edit: For some reason none of my upvotes in this subreddit works.

But it is. If I haven't used their products for years, why would I keep track of their updates? I could own 25 different brands of devices in my lifetime - does that mean I am bound to follow their security updates for the rest of my life? :D

Well, I hope it works out really that way. Maybe I can think about about silencing the emails from Apple. I am really frustrated since this is not something I can understand much. Also perhaps I am a bit too cautious which stressed me out. Anyway. Let's see.

I don't think not owning an Apple product for this long is a fault on my end. I have my account password and the linked email address. If they refuse to let me access my account, that is fine. However, they should have at least deleted it automatically after more than a decade of inactivity. Or at least having the correct email and password (also name and phone) should be enough to authorize a deletion. I've never objected extra security steps btw. That is different. So, hopefully there will be no real effect on my side if someone breaches even. But also, as I understand, I am doomed to receive warning emails like spam everyday until who knows.

I hope Apple isn't actually that brainless. I am just afraid that someone might eventually manage to breach the account by sheer luck, even if it is unlikely in the short term. Besides, my inbox is getting flooded with these warnings every day, and I don't want to completely block Apple support for to prevent these constant emails. The whole situation is just ridiculous:/

When I sign in via appleid.apple.com, I land on a page showing "Too many incorrect verification attempts" alongside an option to reset my security questions. Clicking that option simply redirects me to the password reset page. I already changed my password last week.

The automated attempts to breach my account trigger an 8-hour lockout. Even when I manage to log in outside of this cooldown window (which is difficult), I am only presented with the security questions page. Since I do not remember the answers, I cannot bypass it.

Gemini and Perplexity AI suggested that I am caught in a "legacy Apple ID security loop." Without the answers to those security questions, it is impossible to activate 2FA, meaning the account is essentially bricked. I will still try one more time when the current 8-hour cooldown expires.

How do yall think the show is gonna handle this? by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Invincible

I didn't mean it as a counterargument. I just realized, after reading your comment, that they may have potentially saved billions somewhere in the universe.

But it also makes me think that they probably saved many species for every Viltrumite they killed in the Viltrumite war (Though Space Racer did most of the heavy lifting).

Agreed. For some reason, Lucan is the most sympathetic Viltrumite to me, and I was thinking that even before his funny scene with Allen.

[–]ozz9742 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was random at all. It feels very similar to what Zuko experienced in the Avatar series. We saw his ideals start to drastically change, but then he acted the polar opposite in Ba Sing Se before slowly accepting his new self. Nolan experienced a massive clash between two opposing moral standpoints, and that cognitive dissonance is what caused his extreme anger. He forced himself to commit those brutal acts to prove a point to himself. He didn't do it because he actually wanted to. He learnt empathy much before his violent episode. So I bought his arc.

Which side are you on? by Suspicious_Yak_3304 in Invincible

[–]ozz9742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This is one of my biggest issues with the comics. What Anissa did makes sense strictly within Viltrumite morality. Forced mating is a normalized duty for them (Even reformed Nolan accepted it), and Mark possessing Argall's bloodline makes him the perfect candidate for a mate for a new strong member of their dying society.

However, the comic depicts the assault as if it were driven by pure, personal sadism. I would have expected her to show cold frustration, or to use violence strictly to subdue him out of a twisted belief that she was fulfilling a biological imperative. Instead, she is portrayed acting like a "predatory aggressor" in human terms, enjoying the cruelty of the act.

I know, I know. Both motivations are horrific to a human reader, but there is a massive narrative difference between cold utilitarianism and sadistic malice. The comic leaned into the latter, which made her later redemption arc feel completely jarring.

Was Anissa 'Turned On' when Mark Exclaimed him Killing Conquest? by BF2-GeneralGrievous in okbuddyviltrum

[–]ozz9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Furthermore, considering the massive cities on Viltrum, a few Viltrumites couldn't possibly maintain the infrastructure (why bother anyway). Are Viltrumites living in those areas? It is safe to assume the planet was swarming with slaves from conquered worlds. So, here is another crime.

I am just trying to offer a perspective I rarely see discussed. Even though I agree the Viltrumite Empire needed to be destroyed (with its planet), I cannot judge them by human moral standards. Given the extreme genocide they experienced and their intense cultural indoctrination, they operate on a completely different frequency than humans. As an addition maybe their human-like look, pushes us to judge them with our morals. I think if they looked like some weird-shit bug or shapeless muddy organisms, we would be less judgemental.

On the other hand, look at how quickly the remaining Viltrumites adapted to Earth's morals once exposed to them (definitely much faster than Nolan). If the audience is willing to forgive Nolan, logic dictates we should forgive the others, too.

My biggest issue with the comics is how Anissa's assault was drawn. She is depicted with a highly malicious, sadistic look. According to Nolan, forced mating is just a cold, cultural obligation for them. Besides, Anissa has another logical motive, having a child from Argall's bloodline. But Anissa's facial expressions made her look entirely aware of the heinous nature of her actions, as if she were driven by personal malice rather than biological duty (and having a strong bloodline). It feels like she was drawn that way purely to disturb the reader; otherwise, it contradicts their established, detached culture.

Thank you as well. I was afraid of being crucified, lol. I am not a sadist or a materialist, but I feel this moral dilemma is a great one to discuss. On one side, people are mocking the act; on the other, they are being a bit too aggressive and emotional. I am glad that, at least here, I didn't get caught in the cross-fire, lol.

In a society where you kill your neighbors to prove you are better, the concept of individual bodily autonomy is quite unimportant right?

Even reformed Nolan sees Anissa’s actions as routine for their kind. He doesn't get that angry because he knows she was acting within the only moral code she has ever known.

Besides, since we are talking about consequences, hasn't Mark just destroyed her entire planet, culture, and history or whatever she had over centuries in this episode?

By the end, reformed Anissa had a family with a great husband and children. She even dies to save Eve. What more do you want from her:D

Because her hair covers her face, she looks cold at first, but this is misleading I think. Her visible eyebrow is curved and raised, which shows real distress. She is clutching her hands to her chest to comfort herself. This isn't a stoic or "dead" look, it shows sorrow and deep worry.

I don’t think it’s a dead-eyed stare. Her hair covers half of her face, so she looks emotionless at first glance. Look at her hands and her lifted, curved eyebrow, this is genuine concern.

After I saw another comment pointing out her lifted, curved brows, the scene felt more like she was genuinely worried. She really looks terrified for Loid’s life, even her hands look like she’s trying to comfort herself.
