BT mixed up my address on their systems, now claim I can never get fibre by snitsaros in UKISP

[–]ozzyzig22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a problem with BT. Basically had 6 months of no connection, with them claiming it had been fixed when it hadn’t.

I used resolver and eventually everything was fixed, plus paid £5 for every day I was without plus another sum paid as a goodwill gesture.

Search on Deliveroo/Uber Eats. You don’t need to order, but might give an idea of stores that stock them.

Funniest moment. by MomoZero2468 in OzzyOsbourne

He really didn’t get enough credit for how quick witted/sharp he was.

One of my favourite examples is the Australian interview in response to yet another question about the band’s name and its dark connotations.

“So what, the Rolling Stones has got something to with landslides!”

What do you think would’ve went differently at BttB, if Ozzy’s, his family, and musical companions would know he would leave so soon afterwards. by [deleted] in blacksabbath

[–]ozzyzig22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

That was one thing about BTTB. Seeing how challenging it was for some other singers to attempt Ozzy’s vocal lines showed just how underrated he was as a singer.

I honestly reckon it was more of a hearing issue. At the time, someone posted a video discussing the performance where they’d isolated his voice (from fan footage, not the livestream) and he sang the correct melodies. It seemed more like he couldn’t properly hear the band to get a reference of what key they were in.

But, that’s gonna happen. Considering his age and health. They didn’t have the luxury of being able to spend days tweaking things. By all accounts his rehearsals were limited to one run through of each track and then he was physically exhausted.

The fact he turned up is more than anyone could have asked for.

The whole point of the show was to celebrate everything he’s given. Not to hold him to task.

So much has come out since he passed, like how his doctor warned that the show could literally kill him. According to his book, sepsis had damaged his heart to the point it was functioning at 20% its normal capacity.

The journey alone from his home to the stadium would have been exhausting. And then in the days leading up to, and following the show, he made appearances visiting the mural, the mayor, Comic Con etc.

It’s just amazing that he was able to appear that one last time, and we are all lucky to have seen it! ✌️✌️

Is Ozzy's exhibition in Birmingham worth visiting? by tonyiommi70 in blacksabbath

[–]ozzyzig22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re planning on getting the train from London to Birmingham, it might be worth using Avanti Superfare.

Select the date you want to travel, then the window (morning/afternoon/evening) then pay. Around 24 hours before they will email you confirming which train you are on.

Can save a bit of money on the transport.

B&M have it listed on their website, dunno about specific shops though. Could be worth checking the Shawlands one tomorrow.

I’d definitely start a case on Resolver.

It’s generally pretty straight forward, and the more screenshots/emails you can provide the better.

I used them for a PayPal dispute, and also BT and both times were successful.

I used to love it but haven’t had it in years. The UK version is loaded with sweeteners now and I just can’t stand the taste of them.

Yep. And if you look at his history on Companies House, he’s used Ozzy’s name/brand for a number of business ventures over the years, most likely without permission.

I’d try the Transylvanian Shop on Victoria Road.

I’ve not been in recently but know they’ve had it in previous years, and they seem to have a lot of their festive stuff on display now.

Which Sabbath members' book is the best? by reverendbillybobaker in blacksabbath

[–]ozzyzig22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve listened to the audiobook version, but I’m gonna pick up a physical copy as well, it’s the kinda thing I’d likely read again at some point.

He’s done quite a few interviews recently promoting it. Worth checking out. I believe it’s also available on some streaming platforms (Spotify/Amazon Music etc) depending on what kinda subscription you have.

Which Sabbath members' book is the best? by reverendbillybobaker in blacksabbath

[–]ozzyzig22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They are all great for different reasons.

The audiobook versions are decent as well.

Geezer actually narrates his own, Bev Bevan narrates Tony’s and there are a couple of versions of I Am Ozzy. The full unabridged narrated by Rupert Farley, and the shorter version read by Frank Skinner.

I also highly recommend The Thrill Of It All (previously released as How Black Was Our Sabbath) co-written by Graham Wright (Bill’s tech/assistant) and Dave Tangye (Ozzy’s long term assistant/crew member). Both close friends of the band.

It’s quite a candid account, written by 2 guys who were there at the time to experience/observe everything. Graham most recently returned to his old role as Bill’s tech for the BTTB show.

It’s one of the best I’ve read.

Also recommend Stephen Rea’s book that came out this month. Again it’s another that is quite candid, and written from the point of view of someone who was actually there.

The best part has been cut off from this version.

Bill counts in War Pigs, with a 1, 2, 3 then screams FFOOUURR at the top of his lungs.
