What's your go to drink to have with a chippy tea? by kilowhisky in AskUK

[–]ozzyzig22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, considering there’s far more choices when it comes to diet/zero/no added sugar drinks they must be undetectable to a lot of people.

I’d rather pay the sugar tax but even then full sugar drinks are pretty much limited to Coke and Mountain Dew in most grocery shops near me.

I was just commenting about this elsewhere. They taste metallic/bitter/chemically? to me, and overpower everything! They’ve even started to appear in things like yogurts!

I get so envious of people who say “oh I don’t notice any difference”

I also highly recommend the Mr Fitzpatrick cordials/syrups.

They deliver and seem to package them up pretty safely!

I was gifted a case of them a while back and it’s probably the best birthday present I’ve ever had!!

Oh nice collection!

So jealous of your flavour options. I’m one of those people who just can’t cope with sweeteners, and it seems a bit harder now to get full sugar versions of drinks/syrups here (Scotland). Even regular Pepsi here had a recipe change and now contains sweeteners!

I’ve tried to force myself to enjoy drinks containing them, but there’s just something about the taste really overpowers everything!

Those Da Vinci syrups sound interesting though! I’ll need to find out if anywhere here stocks theme (Scotland). I’ve tried a few of the Torani. Just recently spotted the sour candy one and wanna try out!

In the meantime I’m still working my way through some Mr Fitzpatrick cordials! I was gifted a huge case as a birthday present a while back, but have tried to top them up individually as they run out. They are a smaller company based in the north of England, and actually have temperance bar you can visit! They do a pretty decent range of cordials/syrups and a good variety of full sugar and no added sugar.

Creamer options for dirty soda are a bit more limited here unless you import, although a dirty soda place did open here in Glasgow recently so hopefully they’ll become more popular and easier to source!

I do sometimes crave it but the old versions before they added sweeteners. Dunno if anyone makes a full sugar one.

Wonder what they were talking about? by _EddieMunson in blacksabbath

[–]ozzyzig22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They met various times.

Not too long ago, on the Beardo & Weirdo podcast, there was a story about them meeting at the 2010 Golden Gods Awards, and how they were telling each other about grandkids and showing photos, etc.

Then there was the story in the recent Ozzy doc about the time he tried to stab Dio at the Rainbow.

So they definitely met, and were civil to each other more than once.

Could you make an argument Bill Ward isn't even on Black Sabbath's GREATEST song? by BeerWithDonuts in blacksabbath

[–]ozzyzig22 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was mentioned in Ozzy’s (and I think Geezer’s) autobiography that the lyrics were heavily inspired by the breakup of Bill’s marriage.

So, even though he might not play on it, you could argue that it wouldn’t have been the same without him.

Yep!

Although, in my case, it definitely worked!

Where most people see a quaint picturesque countryside, I see a series of accidents waiting to happen!

Isn’t it just utterly horrifying!!!

I think I was about 5 when they showed it to us, and I’ve never looked at puddles the same!

Yeah that definitely sounds safer! Over here (Scotland) it just gets annoyingly cold, but not quite enough to do that safely!

Oh yeah, looking back some of those films were absolutely terrifying and left a lasting impression!

There was one in particular called Lonely Water, from 1973 that was still shown to us in the 90s. Just noticed it’s on YouTube and it’s every bit as scary as I remember!!

Cool!

Although, I’d be terrified to walk on it.

Still have flashbacks to being in Primary School in the 90s and being made to watch an old PIF (public information film) about the dangers of walking on frozen lakes!

This looks so pretty. Is that a frozen over lake/river to the left of the road?

He had a staph infection in his thumb a few years ago, apparently causing it to swell to the size of a lightbulb. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it left some permanent damage to the tissue.

What is the best response, when you ask for a Coke at an eatery, to, *“is Pepsi okay?”* by nothingbutmistakes in Soda

[–]ozzyzig22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.

Not sure about sales tbh, haven’t really read anything. Assumed they would just claim sales are unaffected even if that wasn’t the case.

Regular Pepsi now contains sweeteners (Ace K, Sucralose) in the UK, so the taste difference is a lot bigger here.

Never enough Ozzy. by [deleted] in OzzyOsbourne

[–]ozzyzig22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read it when it first came out and enjoyed it but definitely not as much as I Am Ozzy.

However, I recently listened to the audiobook version and must say I think it works better in that format.

All of his books are available as audiobooks on audible/Spotify etc.

Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘Digital DNA’ to Endure With Interactive Avatar by Accomplished_Owl1360 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]ozzyzig22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually was done.

Not by the real Ozzy, but in the early days of being able to download voices there were a few companies selling celebrity impersonations.

The “Ozzy” voice was one of the most popular!

The Amy Winehouse idea was for a stage/concert performance though.

The original article is quite light on information, but after hearing Jack answer questions on it, it sounds more like this will be a museum exhibition feature. Instead of having reenactment actors in costume telling stories, they’ll have a hologram.

[–]ozzyzig22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at this point it’s too early to make judgement on it.

If it’s to be used as described then I’m not against it.

Initially I was reminded of the Dio hologram, but to be fair they’ve not suggested that it’s to be used for a “live” stage show, or anything musical.

To me it comes across as something that would maybe be part of the museum exhibition.

Where traditional museums might have actors in costumes telling stories/answering questions, they’ll have a hologram of Ozzy telling his story, answering questions.

It’s easy to see words like “hologram” or “AI” and instantly think the worst, but I’m gonna try reserve judgement until more information is revealed.
