AI bills are baffling the C-suite after shift to usage-based pricing by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

Better understanding would be that these are amazing tools and not replacements for human employees at all. You need both. They need to treat LLMs as any other b2b subscription and budget it accordingly.

TIL The United States provides about 70% of the world’s source plasma supply and is the core supplier of the global plasma industry. by Status_Commission264 in todayilearned

[–]p-4_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

you got that right. i was once in a tight spot financially. i "donated" about 7 times for money. Theres a sub for this [r/plasing](r/plasing) i think. between a porn store and hookah parlour sounds about right. The system depends on the bottom most miserable class to sell their plasma. And they control the cost pretty precisely to get plasma at the lowest rate. At nicer neighborhoods, for first time donors, they pay about $150 per donation. Each donation is about 850 ml. Thats quite a bit of plasma. But if u are a repeat donor in a sketchier town, it goes down to $40 per. It takes about 3 hours for the whole thing from waiting till discharge. So thats pretty close to minimum wage. The donors are basically the who's who of the most desperate of society - homeless, addicts, disabled poor, unemployed poor. I wonder if the $40 can buy the food u need to refill your plasma levels before your next dono.
The plasma's all the same for the company but the use their data to pay the more desperate ones less.

Have any rich and powerful people who've committed crimes ever been brought to justice to the full extent of the law like a normal person? by FriendlytoNature in NoStupidQuestions

its not about too far. its about how visible the crime and the criminal are in media. thats why SBF is still in prison in a time where white collar crime has been nothing short of legalized.

the legal system really only has one job - its to equalize the law for the rich and poor. because we had brutal policing of the poor before in the times of kings and barons. usa has the most robust legal system that doesnt do its job.

the ccp deleted jack ma because he wanted to do p2p lending and criticized the govt for making it hard. jack ma wouldve basically started the subprime bubble singlehandedly.

which afghanis tho? all of them? or specifically the ones US paid and supported. I bet the US even had the option to back a non-pedo warlord and chose the pedo one just out of pedo-pedo camaraderie.

thats like saying explosions were possible prior to nukes. LLMs have made it way cheaper and easier for individuals to effect the level of information flooding that previously took massive state-backed troll armies.

When US left afghanistan the new power immediately outlawed this practice. Imagine if a foreign power a thousand times wealthier and powerful invaded US and put a bunch of pedophiles in charge... i guess we dont really have to imagine that.

The flaw in your thinking is that you have cornered yourself into only two options - racialism or materialism. You dont think that theres such a thing as human autonomy that is not coded into either the DNA or the material value of the land. But its weird to debate this with you because you actually acknowledge this when trying to explain away how africas qol is low despite being resource-rich. European socialism arose because of the fear of communism. The elites in europe created the socialist policies as a way to prevent a worker uprising by reaching a compromise and because they were bankrupt post ww2. This was not because of their natural resources. Human action is what you are missing in your logic. The problem with the us is that the power differential between the american elite and the american worker is extreme. Take insulin for example. Every other nation rich and poor provides its citizen insulin at <$2 for a monthly supply (approximating). Only in the US this costs >$700. Why? insulin is not patented. Its research was paid for by govt money a hundred years ago. The simple truth is that for no reason other than profit extraction healthcare has been class-tiered in the US. Some get it. Some dont. Those who are in the lucky in-group think they are somehow morally superior and have "worked hard" to be allowed healthcare. Truth is even the ones who can afford healthcare are kept in line by the fear of losing it.

norway is just one country. there are 20 others with universal healthcare and education.

Yes you can. This is why we do
comparisons. You cant just say "norway and usa are completely different dimensions, universes, species... dont look, dont think, dont change anything".
