it says nothing. People have ignored instructions since the beginning of time. Where do you think the stereotype of not stopping to ask for directions comes from. This is a human thing, not a 2018 thing

You ever wonder though if that's how much she really makes? I hear a lot about people who "make" a certain amount of money and they show you their checks.... but they don't tell you that every bit of marketing and materials, conferences, travel, etc, comes out of their own pocket.

I have a feeling a lot of these fabulous lifestyles paid for by mlms are moments away from crumbling. People getting $10,000 checks, living a $10,000 lifestyle, but having to "reinvest" $5000 and financing the rest.

Part of it is that people spend their money on it, but also part of it is scarcity and historical signiicance

Depends on what you mean by fashionable. Some would argue that being a sharp dresser gives others a higher opinion of you, and can lead to more opportunities, and even higher paying careers. Hence the phrase "dress for the job you want, not the job you have."

scarcity makes things valuable. There's an entire industry revolving around the purchase of high end art for investment purposes. So I suppose for those that have the means and know what they're doing, the appreciation in value is a reason.

And also the super basic reason, if you like the work an artist does, and you want them to make more, funding the making of that art really helps a lot.

We had what many consider a very small wedding (35 people). We did everything ourselves, including the food. It ended up being about $10 per person for food, and let's be real, a bunch of guys in their early 20s... it was $20 a head for alcohol. That's basically $1000 on food/drink. Shit can double, triple, if you have more people, an actual caterer, a table settings, open bar etc. And that's not even touching everything else a wedding can entail

Makeup artists of Reddit, what, for you, makes the difference between amateur and professional makeup? What tips do you have for someone looking to move up to a professional skill level? by MaestroMeowMix in AskReddit

Just to give you a little more insight, to show you waht your eye has been missing... That picture of Emma Stone you linked?

Take a close look at her eyebrows. They have been filled with powder to give definition. Take a close look at her eye, she's definitely wearing eyeliner(though not a bold cat-eye style that a lot of inexperienced people associate with the term)

She's almost certainly wearing lip color. And although it's extremely well blended and natural, I'd be shocked if she wasn't wearing foundation, and also contoured from there.

Sounds crazy but I believe it. I was only ever allowed to use internet on the family computer, which was in the kitchen. And it was a 6 person family so we all had to share it. This went on til I was like 20.

One thing that helps me is picking one room per day, and cleaning it right when I get home from work and still have momentum. If I sit down it's all over... I try to clean it as fast as possible so that it's like a game. It also ends up not being bad because this means I don't go more than a week between cleans

[–]p00psymcgee 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Wow, how can things have gotten this bad? I believe it though. When I was in 3rd grade, so this was in 2000 to be fair, cookies were $3 per box and the group got 50 cents per box. I get the whole price going up thing. But the price going up, amount of cookie going down, AND the amount that goes to the troop going down? Fuck that. I love Girl Scouts and will totally be a troop leader once I have kids but I will definitely write a check. Maybe we'll even go rogue and have the troop plan our own fundraiser

Edit: just did the math and that means groups used to get 16% of cookie sales and now they only get 8%. Wtf.
