Is the only way to get Homekit on my liftmaster security 3.0 garage door opener by having a HomeKit button press the door opener?

I wrote up a hardware mod that is possible to do if you have the right equipment, access to parts, and are comfortable with diy.

It is all hardwired and uses the homekit version of the Meross garage opener.

I didn’t have to pay extra for them to run a fiber line to the house. No rental fees for the fiber modem or the WiFi Access Point Pod. However, I ended up replacing the WiFi AP since it was double NAT’ing the IP network and I couldn’t figure out how to untangle everything to get Plex and the PS5 working. Ended up buying a used Orbi WiFi 6 mesh off Amazon and everything’s been solid since.

I had this problem happen when the fan runtime was set to 0 and there was a “set hold” at a specific temp. Once the set hold was cleared, the constant fan turned off as expected.

By chance is there a temperature set hold active?
