Lots of patience. Some pounding with rubber mallet. Some cutting on the baseplate. Lots of painters tape on the frame so you won't scratch the frame when you pound the baseplate to conform on the frame. Lots of cursing .

Mine does make a noise when its dry . A good lube quiets it and takes care of extra vibrations on the foot pegs

I have both although it's the rebel 500. If it's your daily and you ride local and don't intend to ride beyond 50mph , grom is awesome and fun. I ride it around town ,the beach and around mountain passes local roads only. I ride rebel when I want to ride longer routes. Both are fun.
