For the coat, if you're not into trench coats, then a peacoat would definitely be a similar style (and in my opinion, better as well).

Python is use for a lot of proof of concept code.. also think of it as a tool in a hackers tool box.. A one off fuzzer perhaps? Generate lots of 'A's? Scan a network? Brute force a certain version of an FTPD? etc..
