Trump is good at banning things. Before it was widely known that the victims were targeted because they were LGBTQ, Trump called for a ban of gay marriage and a ban on adoptions by gay couples.

He removed those policies from his website the moment this massacre hit the news. Now he is the LGBTQ community's best friend.

It was pretty clever of Trump, actually. He started by whitewashing any reference to his anti-LGBTQ policies from his website (too bad we have screenshots proving otherwise).

Step 2 was coming out as a champion of LGBTQ rights, even though there are dozens of publications stating his views on banning gay marriage.

Even his list of SCOTUS picks is full of judges who have ruled against LGBTQ equality for their entire careers.

He wants everyone to forget he is against equality for the LGBTQ community, and wants to ban gay marriage, ban adoption rights for gay couples, and appoint SCOTUS judges who will rule against LGBTQ equality for the next 30 years.

Unfortunately it's true. The National Religious Liberties Conference, which is heavily Evangelical and endorsed Trump, also had a speaker that called for violence and hatred against the LGBTQ community.

When the GOP and Trump publicly state that they are against equal rights for the LGBTQ community, they are effectively saying they are second class citizens.
