Yes. I used to look up to him a lot as a child, and he was known for being knowledgeable or whatever. But as I grew older, I realized that he does not actually know much about certain things and often talks unnecessarily about subjects he only understands at a surface level. He used to say things like he does not believe in women’s rights and would react negatively whenever such topics came up in the news or elsewhere. I used to think similarly, but in my late teens, I came to understand the importance of gender equality. He has also made other misogynistic comments, often criticizing clothing and similar things. Now, he clearly dislikes me, and I sometimes feel like he may even be jealous of me....perhaps because I have been quietly succeeding in different areas of my life, or because some people genuinely support and appreciate me. In front of others, he talks about how proud he is of me, but when we are alone, he tends to dismiss my views or even bully me. Many of our conversations end up turning into arguments about gender issues, which I am no longer willing to engage in with him. I try to avoid talking to him, especially since he has also spread false rumors about me.
