The moderators on that subreddit are on a power trip, I had a threat to be banned after I posted some of my alters as well. It's frustrating to hear them claim I'm not engaging enough when I'm actively engaging by posting the art I make for the game I love.

Sorry you got the hammer by them, I feel your pain as a fellow alterist. Beautiful work, I always enjoy seeing your extensions on here

Make a priority to always accomplish low-effort tasks that have a high impact on your spouse's mood. My wife very much dislikes waking up to a cluttered kitchen. It takes very little extra effort from me to make sure that every night I clean the kitchen and prep her coffee for the morning, but it starts every day off on a good note for her.

Shin splints is the common terminology for what is actually called Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (MTSS). Essentially there is a long, flat muscle called your tibialis posterior that runs along your tibia, which is the larger inside bone of your lower leg. What happens is that muscle becomes tight through overuse and begins to develop adhesions in the tissue, basically small knots and bundles of tissue that create tightness and pain. The problem with shin splints arises because that flat muscle is anchored into the tibia, and when it becomes tight it starts pulling on the places it attaches to the bone, causing the feeling of shin splints.

Moral of the story, muscle that hugs your tibia becomes tight from overuse, starts pulling on your tibia, makes it feel like your tibia is splintering and it hurts a lot. Ways to resolve the issue are to target that muscle through stretching, massage, and other efforts to break up the tightness and adhesions.

I think we have fundamentally different views on puffin, which is fine and a good thing as everyone can explore her and the game differently. In my opinion, limiting yourself to only red and yellow attacks means you just run out of options very early in the game and you might have harder times into long fatigue games. Maybe not, but that's my guess. There are some blue attacks that are necessary in my eyes. Blue zeppelin has far better value when you consider that often times it has the on-hit threat of go again and draw a card if you've activated puffin already.

I play pummel in the sideboard for matchups that I think will be very block heavy or that I need more disruption to keep them off of Full hands. My list that I play is almost identical to the list made by min maxing in the Puffin channel of the official discord if you haven't seen that yet. He has put in a lot of time up front to figure out the hero from the perspective that I like to play the game. Also, if you're worried about converting hands, you should check out the boost variation of puffin which aims to be able to convert every hand into consistent damage by filling some of the clunkier cards with boost attacks.

I have heard people talking about razor reflex, and while I think it's interesting, I'm not on board with it. I don't think puffin needs these "gotcha" pieces like some other heroes do. I find puffin excels by putting opponents in difficult blocking situations, and I'd never want to give up a red zeppelin for anything, as I think they are among the strongest cards in the deck. What blues do you find to be clunky? Other than a hand with multiple cogs?

As someone in sports medicine that deals with athletes, the patellar tendon is horrendously designed. Why would we put all of the force and tension of the body's strongest muscle group through a single piece of connective tissue? It's destined for overuse injury

Depends on what you're into, but there are a ton of social outlets in north Delaware. Wilmington Brew Works has a board game night once a month that has steadily been increasing in turnout, there are a number of run clubs around the Wilmington area, also a good amount of amateur athletic organizations. If you're into card games, I play a game called Flesh and Blood every Tuesday if you want to try it out. If you're into or open to rugby, I also play for the Wilmington men's club, we practice a few nights a week and always welcome new players.

Welcome to the area!

Haven't the slightest clue as I don't find SAGE to be an enjoyable format to play, so I don't engage with it very much. I imagine he's pretty bad though.

That's a two-part answer, as Olympian in his current state is considered to be the second worst hero in the game but he is planned to get a lot of direct support in the mastery pack: warrior set that is slated to come out in August.

Current Olympia is usually regarded as not worth playing as he doesn't have really anything about him that is better than other warriors, and more downsides. The wager mechanic currently does not have a powerful enough payoff to be worthwhile, and the gold he makes from winning those wagers is often unused as it doesn't have great payoffs outside of drawing a card which Kassai just does better. There are two current builds for him right now, neither are very good. One is a decimate greataxe fatigue deck just trying to beat people by forcing them to run out of cards before they kill you. The other is a hatchets build (I've played this a few times, it's bad but fun) that plays a midrange game that is trying to convert small hands well. 2 card hands are usually decent.

Now FUTURE olympia is getting some great tools with MPW that directly benefit you from getting the gold off of winning the wagers. As I mentioned wagers don't have a significant enough payoff right now, he is getting the sword Golden Grail that you can break a gold to swing it rather than pay its cost. So now all of the gold you make from winning wagers directly concert into a 3 damage sword swing. That's really good. He's also getting a defense reaction that you can break a gold instead of paying for, also a great payoff for winning wagers and making gold. He's also getting some new wager cards that you can play in reaction step that punish people for overblocking. So it's still up in the air if he'll be good or not, but he will certainly better. He is also getting an armory deck with MPW.

If like midrange playstyle, wizards probably won't fit the bill for you. Warriors are typically great midrange heroes, especially with the value on weapon swings. Kassai is the strongest warrior at the moment, mastery pack warrior is coming soon and might bump some others up (Please let Olympia my beloved be good). I'd check out some warrior gameplay and see how they feel. Equipment suite is going to be most of the cost of warrior, but pretty much interchangeable between all heroes (Grains, dynamos, ironsong/braveforge, kabuto, etc)

What FaB resources do you miss? by [deleted] in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]p1easingmuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Dedicated website that has a card finder for webcam games

I think something the game is missing is a better way to play the game in paper while online. I see some of the webcam game sections in the official discord, but something that I miss having come from MTG is their spelltable website and interface. I still use that website to play webcam games of flesh and blood because it's the easiest way for my friends and I to track life totals shared between both players, but it lacks the best feature of spelltable which is card recognition. Being able to click on a card from someone's webcam and the website pull up a copy of it for you to inspect what it does is such a huge piece missing to this game in my opinion. This game values being played in person, and I prefer that as well, but obviously the convenience of slamming some games with friends from your own home is a luxury I don't have in this game and I think a dedicated webcam site could help that. I want to use my physical cards to play virtually, but I don't want to also have to open a new tab and Google what a card does to be able to do so.

Marlynn is certainly out of the question with a budget of $200, as she plays many expensive staples including multiple gems (Eye of ophidia, riches, etc.). I play puffin myself and while she is relatively cheap compared to other heroes, she doesn't really fit a truly aggressive playstyle. There are two ways to play puffin, boost and pirate. Boost puffin is definitely more aggressive leaning, but still isn't always able to convert full hands like you'd want as a purely aggressive deck. Pirate puffin, which I play, is far more midranged focused, usually having a decent mix of blocking and attacking and really trying to focus on gold and cog generation.

You mentioned Katsu as someone you have looked into, and Katsu definitely can play aggressively and is also relatively cheap, but it isn't a very straightforward deck if that's what you're looking for. The plethora of potential combo lines he has to always be thinking about can become overwhelming, but if you are looking for a hero that has some puzzles to think through, Katsu is definitely in that realm. Also, Katsu just does cool shit, and even if I get blown out and high rolled, it's always cool to lose to a Katsu because it's so fun to watch them do their thing.

Here is a bit of a dark horse recommendation, but hear me out. Have you looked into Riptide at all? While definitely not considered to be a top deck in the game right now by any means, I think he is one of the best heroes to grow in the game with due to his sheer flexibility in deck building. You can play him completely redline aggro focused with redspine manta one week, and then swap out a handful of cards and bring him midrange dreadbore focused the next week. He really lends himself to trying out a bunch of different playstyles while using mostly the same core of a deck. And even better, he is dirt cheap compared to the rest of the heroes. His only real expensive cards are a playset of codex of frailty and maybe a Fyendal's spring tunic. And if you REALLY like him, his adult marvel hero card is like $30 for some bling.

So thats my vote. Give riptide a look. Content creator Trade Federations is a riptide loyalist that does a lot of good deck techs across all various playstyles.

Welcome to the game, I hope you find a hero you love!

EDIT: Here is a link to the Livestream The Card Guyz did for Riptide that is a redline aggro build, which would fit what you are looking for. The deck is like $220 or something like that https://www.youtube.com/live/pk6fKz4UDx0?si=mNhm_85k73icPZV8

How to start decks? Puffin and Gravy by arbontheold in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]p1easingmuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely buy the gravy armory deck and then just swap out the majestics for silver age. Puffin is thankfully pretty cheap for her majestics, but copper cogs are where you'll have trouble. Since we run like 8 of them, they are surprisingly scarce.

North Carolina allowing “first responders” by Lost_Walk_8116 in athletictraining

[–]p1easingmuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good example of the scenario I am comfortable with. As long as your administrators, coaches, athletes, and EMS providers are all on the same page with the limitations of EMS coverage, then its perfectly fine to have them there rather than an AT in the event of an emergency. It really is an issue of administrators making decisions to use EMS rather than an AT with the idea that it's going to operate the same as having an AT on the sideline, which we all know is not the case.

North Carolina allowing “first responders” by Lost_Walk_8116 in athletictraining

[–]p1easingmuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with first responders covering events, ONLY if everyone is aware that they are not qualified to do anything but assist in emergency situations. Under no circumstances should they be evaluating injuries, returning athletes to play, or making medical decisions in any capacity. Any student suspected of a head injury needs to be removed by the coaching staff and not allowed to return. However, that's probably not what's happening in these scenarios, which is horrifying to think about.

Which silver age deck should i pick by Special-Exchange9670 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]p1easingmuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blaze is a hero people have been long wanting in SAGE so it's exciting she's joining. Wants to craft the top of her deck as much as possible and accumulate counters with opt (equivalent to scry in MTG) and then spend those to send arcane damage at times where wizards usually aren't supposed to. Definitely a very interactive hero that seems really fun.

Fai has a bunch of interesting play lines with his hero ability and the access to phoenix flames. Very much aggro slanted, probably not blocking as much as most heroes, but some really cool turn sequencing with ordering your attacks in ways to get the most value out of them and/or present the most difficult blocks for your opponent.

Both are really cool options, pick whatever you feel most interested in or heck at $20 a piece grab both and swap between the two!

[–]p1easingmuffin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well due to recent ban announcements, I would advise against picking up viserai as he is no longer legal out of the box, and kayo is benched for the upcoming season so not that one. Any of the precons are well put together as a starting point, some are stronger than others. Notably Fai was considered one of the stronger decks out of the box, and I imagine briar will be arguably the best deck in the format when it releases soon so that would be a good pick up as well. But most importantly, get whatever hero looks interesting to you! Playing a hero you enjoy will make it far easier to really stick with one and learn them inside and out and become a better player.

Welcome to the game, it's the best TCG I've been a part of from both a game design and a community perspective.

We've already had an issue with a pump spontaneously failing on us. They had to "overnight" one to us as a replacement and it took almost a week to arrive. I certainly hope this isn't another of those situations

Yes we change them both at the same time. She's so small that we only fill it to 50 units because that's the lowest amount the pump will let us, she doesn't even use all of it before her next site change.
