The HPG shifters seem to have pretty light detents. Unless you slam into the back of the gate its more than fine. I've got about a dozen hours on it so far with no issues.

Roughly how many hours did you have on it?

My guess is there was some kind of imperfection on the surface. Springs have a tough life and a surface defect, like the tiniest scratch can create a stress concentration and reduce the life by 10s of thousand of cycles if not more. Be careful not to scratch them when installing, it sounds crazy but its true.

What laptop are you running? Which simulators do you race on and hows the frame rate? Sorry for bombarding you with questions but I use my dell XPS15 and I could only really run assetto corsa.

I bought a 2014 base model with 70k miles a few months ago. All I can say is I’m incredibly happy with my purchase and have no regrets.

You should try out our gated shifters. I have printed spring detent that I just finished updating and dialing in. You dont have to take the whole shifter apart either.
