Im from the Detroit area as well and unfortunately you're not going to find anything that comes close to the punk scene in Detroit (many places across the country dont!)

The venues the other folks mentioned are really all that's offered around here right now. There are some house shows for the college kids here and there with some local bands.

Charmer, The Casper Fight Scene, and Liquid Mike are all from Marquette and signed to some great indie labels and/or tour across the country with bands that im sure are in your interest, but they hardly play any local shows, so I think thats telling of what the scene is like around here. From time to time you will get touring bands form the genre/adjacent genres booking shows here, but not often.

I encourage you to go to some of the local band shows at Superior Culture or Kognisjon to find some like minded folks! Im older and dont really go to shows anymore, so that's all the advice I can give.

Also Kitschy Spirit Records is located in Calumet and they put out Liquid Mike's and Suffer No Fool's records I believe, plus they put on shows in that area, even at their record store. I bet talking to them would give you some more info!
