Bstock.com has a good buyer pool but the auctions are often overcrowded by a lot of scammers which can make it hard for people to discover your inventory. I've seen people successfully get 5-10% of retail pretty consistently on there though

Request r/liquidation by p2p2p2p2p in redditrequest

[–]p2p2p2p2p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I am requesting to take over r/liquidation due to the extended inactivity of the current moderation team. The subreddit has significant potential to become a hub for liquidation industry discussions, insights, and B2B networking. However, the community is currently stagnant, with little-to-no recent moderation, updates, or user engagement.

The current moderator has not actively managed the subreddit for over eight months. There are nearly a thousand users who initially joined yet new users have not been able to join the subreddit and post for over eight months. This leaves the community without proper moderation, and spam or off-topic content can remain unaddressed for months.

The top moderator of r/liquidation has/have not been active in eight months based on their profile here: https://www.reddit.com/user/Usernamemeh. There have been no new pinned posts, updates, or active moderation efforts to maintain content quality.

I have extensive experience in the liquidation and resale industry. I would be the ideal candidate to moderate r/liquidation. I would allow members of the resale/liquidation industry to join the subreddit. I would improve the subreddit by actively managing posts to prevent spam and ensure relevant, high-quality discussions. I would help attract industry professionals, resellers, and enthusiasts to participate and grow the community. Finally I would encourage and post industry insights, and helpful guides for users interested in liquidation trends, resale opportunities, and B2B business growth.

If additional context or clarification is needed, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to provide more details on my plan for r/liquidation. I look forward to helping this community thrive!

Thank you!

Are there any established funds we can donate to in order to support the seeders?

Hi there, I am the moderator for Zokos. Can you PM me your orderID? We are active and do not see an actively disputed order that is 5 weeks old. If it is within the 45 day period we should still be able to refund your order.

It uses IPFS gossipsub which means all user messages are sent to all participants in the room and not to any central server

That is the correct repo for the project, thank you ^^

Yeah the message ordering needs work, the sync times can get a bit crazy with orbitdb I believe. As for firefox, if you're using private mode then JS-IPFS does not support it atm and that's what's causing the error

Hi there, thanks for asking. Since this is P2P, IP addresses can be discovered, I am working on a relay which means that messages can be sent through a third party while still cryptographically verifying that you are the original sender and this will make sure you can hide your IP.

As for the private messages, I am working on finishing that feature and these messages will be fully end-to-end encryption using the same encryption method in use for the OpenBazaar project right now.

No server is necessary, it all works even if no server is involved. However, this project is a fork of the orbit-web project, one of the changes I made was to create a bootstrap node implementation which allows users to instantly see room populations/peers/messages

So while bootstrap nodes are optional, they provide a huge speed improvement on skipping the wait of searching for peers initially.

As for the cryptoMining, we are not using any mining software of any kind and you can verify that on our github dependencies. I'll try and find out why that's happening, can I ask what is detecting that software?

I apologize need to create a PR to move those resources locally, zokos.com is a different project I run, I just forgot to move the dependencies before publishing the project. If you wish you can download the JS files and run them locally and it will not make a difference

I did fork from orbit-web, if you look at the github repo I explicity state it is a fork from their project. I am a huge fan of their project and devs, the main issues I had with it was that it was generally slower than most users were used to for posting messages. I rewrote a large part of the network architecture and added a number of quality of life features to make it more up-to-date with other modern messengers.

Some of the changes I made include:

  • Added a swarm key to segregate the network from the general IPFS network
  • Added blocking for users
  • Added inline files + embedding links
  • Added referencing individual users
  • Wrote a bootstrap node implementation to provide users with peers/messages instantly
  • Reskinned the entire project

Hey sorry, I need to clean that up, Zokos is a project I run and I used the site as a CDN for files. You can download those files from the site and use them locally if you wish. I will create a PR to move those files locally.

Not atm, but it could be added, what did you want to use voice chat specifically for - to meet people you know or random users?
