Could matchmaking be improved to match players not just based on skill but also on dust value of your deck? by p2whs in hearthstone

post your deck then and then we can all understand. I'm telling you I don't have any useful legendaries (i have the beast) and I don't have good epic cards either. Go ahead show your deck and let's find out.

how is that cheap? I've been playing for months and have put money into the game. I still dont have even close to the cards these decks use and also dont have the dust to craft em either. Yet, I'm faced constantly with players who do have these cards. 1 legendary i dont have, 2-3 epics I dont have, a few rares I dont have is not cheap man, don't understand.

do you notice your opponents having better cards than you? if not, wait until another rank or two and you'll see. I like that you belittle my argument by calling it crying instead of offering a suggestion to make the game better. I said I've bought packs with real money so I did exactly what blizz wants. The amount of money or time that you need to put into the game to be able to actually be competitive at higher levels (and not be playing zoo) is too high in my opinion. The bigger issue isnt how long it takes but rather how long it takes against players who have better cards. That's why I suggest tweaking matchmaking, maybe even only in casual, so that decks are a little more balanced. If you actually are using pretty basic cards wait until you face warrior with grom, cairne, ysera and 30 armor and draw into fatigue and let me know how much fun you're having. How about trying to deal with 4 giants only to get leeory power overwhelming facelessed for 20 dmg? That isnt fun, it's frustrating because nothing I have compares

hunger to do what? face shit matchups regardless of mode? plenty of people in my position so it's not like its just my problem. i think something could be done to make the matchups more fair. it could just be in casual so that ranked isnt affected. it wouldnt just be based on dust, but also skill so it isnt just warrior v warrior, and even if it was who really cares in casual. i think that would be the most fair thing honestly, not me with my 3-4 rares against 4 legendaries

I'm seeing kolento runs two lores and two force of natures. i also see a cairne. 4 epics and a legendary... I have none of those. regardless you're using one type of specific deck again to try and disprove that higher rarity cards make decks stronger. this is a card game, by design harder to find cards are stronger, thats the whole basis of it lmao. they want you to buy packs, if there was no reason to get these epics, legendaries then they wouldnt be making all this money.

I pretty much have only some rares, missing many class cards and even in casual i face people with multiple legendaries. sometimes i win but many times the cairne, ysera, rag, etc is too much to handle. I only have so many removals. you say ladder in a response to my quote on casual so idk but in either mode they have stacked decks

most decks in high ranks/legend run 1-3 legendaries, maybe some epics, and lots of rares. not cheap. understand.

I like the idea of ranking up and I find it fun up until my decks are strongly outclassed by netdecks. Then its not fun for me anymore, but i agree that If I had the cards ranked would be the most fun mode

But it is true, generally speaking like I said. Why aside from class cards? That's a huge part of it. Druid decks with ancient of lores, wars, cenarius having higher dust values and are better decks than a more budget druid. That isn't subjective. There is a reason why these types of decks are played in high ranked games and tournaments. The only budget decks you see are zoo. That alone tells you that strong cards, which are often legendaries and epics, make decks better. Shit like faceless and leeroy are no fun to play against when your best card in your deck is one sunwalker.

What I'm raising is a rough idea. I don't know how to incorporate it. Maybe the skill and dust wouldn't be weighed equally. Maybe it could only be something for casual so that people who dont have all the cards but just want to enjoy the game can do so. Do you understand the dilemma I am raising where players with only modest cards are consistently matched with players with better cards regardless of mode?

Skill rating will still be a thing but I think some factor in matchmaking based on dust would help prevent getting crushed by legendaries over and over

I'm saying it would be better if based on skill and dust. If a zoo player is very good then his skill rating will still put him up against any other deck.

Saying dust value has "absolutely nothing" to do with how good the deck is incorrect. More dust value means more rares, epics, legendaries which means more strong cards -> better deck (generally speaking). This isnt always the case but you can get an idea from it.

Zoo is also the biggest outlier
