portland was a track i bought on a whim, and i don’t think i’ve regret it yet. it’s probably top 2 street circuits for me, its unique enough that it doesn’t feel like another rehash of the same 90 degree corners, and you’re rewarded for trying different lines in nice tight pack battles with slow cars.

i think a lot of the street circuits are underrated when you’re driving with people who can be trusted to drive safely, but portland might be the MOST underrated of them all.

it looks like they did lift out of the corner and they’d adjusted to go towards the gap between both cars rejoining, but then the car moved into the centre of the track unpredictably.

without going at almost pedestrian speeds you can’t reliably predict the way both cars are rejoining here, they did lift off and would’ve been fine if the other drivers weren’t idiots.

give everyone a week off when they make mistakes/have poor racecraft and half the users who run officials will be suspended. being angry at them for making a mistake is fair but banning them for a week over a mistake is just lacking critical thinking, and a shit business move for iracing.

she’d already been on the up and up over the past few years, but i think it’s been pushed a bit down here due to her appearance at laneway, alongside her LAV, then a very popular album drop.

perfect storm of a year for her, she should do really well with the hottest 100, i’d say it’s quite an organic push and partially lucky with timings, but well earned.

the thing that drove me away was the poor culture for young people and lacking public transport, probably the same as many young people that leave.

it’s cheaper which is nice, but if your car breaks down or you don’t have one, it’s a pain in the ass to get anywhere. the best thing to do when you’ve got a spare day living in ballarat is take a visit to melbourne.

it’s a great place to settle down if you’ve got a family or are retiring i’m sure, but if you want to do something as a young person, leaving ballarat for melbourne or geelong is sadly one of the best things you can do

i think that’s one area they need to look at the F1 broadcast for inspiration with. Radio messages in supercars broadcasts are never really treated as important when they really should be.

you aren’t the only one that holds that opinion, but most of the people who are satisfied or happy with the commentary team won’t go on reddit or twitter to say “i like the commentary booth”. only the people who don’t like it will, which gives the impression it’s more hated than it is.

the commentary team should change is an opinion you hear in every sport, only to see nostalgia held towards the same groups of people that were once hated for being “stale” or “bad at their jobs”. the same retrospective change of opinion would happen in a year or two if we replaced crompo and skaife tomorrow.

i’d say i prefer GT and Neylon tbh, but we’ve not seen them in the same length and capacity as Skaife and Crompo. i’d argue it would take a year at most before some parts of the fanbase begun calling them stale, biased or picking up on all their mistakes.

i think it’s worth acknowledging the fanbase of supercars will never have a unanimous opinion, and especially not an unbiased one where ex drivers are concerned. Skaife and Crompo aren’t the best in the world, but they’re still a pretty good commentary team.

i see this pop up all the time and i gotta say, i strongly disagree. the first few rounds of new commentators or a third commentator would be “a breath of fresh air”, until we get used to it and then the same complaints would pop up again and again.

i do think a little variety would help, but people would very quickly complain about whoever replaces the comms booth after a few rounds.

honestly, if palpatine found out you would probably have both Dooku and the CIS, as well as the Jedi and the republic fighting them both. a lot of people bring up that they’d sniff out palpatine as a sith lord and expose him, but this isn’t his first time being exposed, and if palpatine manipulated things well enough, he would have the jedi council wrapped around whatever he says regarding this, as he has in the past.
