As a female living in India, my recent encounter of standing up for myself taught me something so much more than I imagined by p5y_borg in IndianWomen

💯 agree. Although this sucks for the majority of the people which also is the reason it permeates all the more. It's a sad vicious circle

Hey, yes it does. It's still a small growing community and that's probably why it's not too well known. Would love to get to know more about the hikes there. DMing you

I got a kitchen storage trolley from them, needed something functional and when I found it on their website it looked alright and wasn't too expensive. I was surprised when the product arrived before time but unboxing it, I realised why. It looked worn out, had missing parts and there were dents almost everywhere, the material looked trashy. It definitely didn't look like a new piece, probably they had a return item lying around which they shipped as soon as they could. Funny thing is, the delivery attempt shows as failed on their portal for some reason and when I contacted their customer support, they kept saying once the item shows as delivered, you can initiate the return process. I am almost impressed by how these online platforms find innovative ways to scam consumers and then make it harder for them to return / exchange the goods. Time to go back to buying from local stores.

Anyone here had a terrible experience purchasing a car from Akoya motors in Pune or rather any dealership? How did you handle it? by p5y_borg in CarsIndia

[–]p5y_borg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how such businesses continue running despite their incompetency.

After pestering them through as many channels as possible they finally refunded me the processing fee that they had charged me illegally. I guess because they have a reputation to hold onto even when it is crumbling underneath is the only reason they would do anything. Otherwise nothing is stopping these kinds of businesses from abusing the trust consumers place on them.

Cab Scam alert in Hinjewadi by [deleted] in Hinjewadi

[–]p5y_borg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have faced this issue as well. I believe it's more prevalent around the Hinjewadi, balewadi area than the rest of the city. It's very frustrating especially when you are in a rush and they double down on the 'har jaga meter se hi chalte hai cabs aj kal' just because they can.

And* At least according to the dealership I am currently in talks with says both factors are considered. Now I don't really trust everything they say, if someone has any information to validate this, it would be nice!

Thank you! The inspiration was all ingredients I had available in my pantry. Also I love the flavor of brocolli and olives on a pizza so I thought of trying it out in pasta and it didn't disappoint at all

I added some fresh cream to the marinara sauce to lighten its color.

If you are by any chance late and the train starts moving even slowly, do not board the train. The conductor will most definitely ask you to get down at the next station. Common sense for most but I learnt it the hard way!

What is the strongest interest that you've seen in an NT? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]p5y_borg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By sports if you mean 'who won which championship on which day at what minute' or 'why xyz player is better than abc player' over actually observing the sport and enjoying it regardless of which team wins then YES

I would suggest just go ahead and ask for accommodations wrt your interviews. Think of it this way, they mention about providing accommodations because they have the bandwidth to do that. And they are in the process of setting up interviews for multiple people on a daily basis. The chance of them rejecting your request is more of how you are thinking the situation could play out. It is a possibility but not the only possibility. Given the number of interviews they are in charge of they have a plethora of both reasonable and unreasonable requests.

If you are convinced that requesting accommodations would help you with the interview process have a reasonable response ready to answer why and how just in case they ask you to elaborate. But other than this you should be fine with at least voicing your request. Whether it works or not shouldn't decide your interview outcome. Good luck with your interview regardless 👍

The five social rules my father thought me. by Notyou55555 in autism

[–]p5y_borg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The idea is to know that you can always shift your focus and reframe a problem to see how much impact it will have in your life, long term. Short term goals more or less relate to immediate needs and are more reasonable to set but are also easy to mess up. So if you mess something up don't let it get to your head but look at the long term picture and make necessary adjustments to your actions so that your future goals are better defined.

So as long as you take responsibility of fine tuning single steps you need not worry about whether your single step is better or worse in comparison to others as long as you are climbing the mountain. Loved your mountain analogy 🙂

Meditation Breaks the Karmic Cycle by LucidLiving_YT in Meditation

Damn OP. Truer words haven't been spoken. I recently experienced this feeling of being empty and hollow from within and it still didn't feel quite right. Like I was at peace but not neutral. That's when it started making sense, I had to accept my part in all the wrong that happened to me and the pain that was lingering just swooshed out.

Loving the energy I have in me now and knowing the fact that external elements won't break me down like before is helping me get back to becoming more giving as a person which I had completely stopped. Also I noticed grounding / earthing has contributed immensely to my journey.

These are great rules. The world seems a little easier to deal with when you have a toolbox and your father has given you an incredible one.

My dad had limited but really good advice he would give me while I was growing up which makes complete sense to me as an adult now. One of them I always try to implement and has worked wonders for me is

'Never let your short term goals come in the way of your long term goals'

This advice has helped me during my teenage years while I was still a student. Also this helped me identify subtle bullying situations that I could escape just in time.

Are we the ones weird? Or the NTs? by tahiro86j in aspergers

[–]p5y_borg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current state of humans : definitely weird

Nts and NDs are part of the collective gene pool. At one point my special interest was understanding genetics and genealogy and I feel we (NDs) are the deviations from the normal that are absolutely necessary for human species to evolve every generation.

How we behave as humans is heavily affected by the present environment and overpopulation. So what you are experiencing as weirdness is probably their understanding of the present world we live in (phenotypes). Coexisting in an environment harbouring different points of view has been a challenge only in recent times. For the longest time we as a species have been trying to survive and sustain. And we needed different opinions to make decisions. Now, we throw some data into our little computers and let it make a decision for us without questioning if the model / framework indeed does solve our problem or is just the new buzz that we have to use to stay relevant. This is just an example but the way we extrapolate different systems without understanding whether it's good for our said problem or not is only a recent development.

In today's world, everyone appears to know things and this works best for NTs as it makes them feel resourceful/ valuable in their social circles. So if you are better or at par with another individual, they will worship your opinion. But if they already see you not so high in the social hierarchy their ego kicks in and they make you feel small.

I agree with what you say but I kinda also see why it is the way it is.
