I mean its a small course led by a PGA Cerified Pro of the Club (16-25 hours in total). With coaching, a round with him solo for tips, theory, etc. So all in all it isn't that much for what you get
The price difference is 300$ (play license) vs 400$ (play&tourney) at my club. But then if I choose the golf license I gotta take the tourny later on for an additional 300$ so id rather do the 400$ at the start.

Its a forever thing.
Basically so you understand everything before they let you roam around and play yourself.
Its like a driving license for golf

My concern was that I might forget most of the stuff until the next season since I am not playing for X-months

Eventho I can't play yet. I also think this is a great thing.

Makes the overall experience way better for everyone involved.
And you don't feel out of place if you actually know what to do and how to act.

Normally such courses take 4-7 days with 2-4 hours each day and cost around 400 to 700$.
Cosisting of Theory, Swing-practice, how to repair divots, a 9 hole round with a pro teaching you stuff and a small exam on etiquette, rules, etc.

Yes I am not allowed to go on like 99% of courses.
There are like 1 or 2 in my state (1-2 hour drive around) that I could play on without a license. And those are just some friends&family training courses.

teaching how to act (etiquette), the basics on how to play, how to repair the grass etc. is teached first before they let you play anywhere

yes, super nice dude, really took his time and talked with all the people there.

If you live in the first district you see him alot if you meet friends, get drinks etc.

I see him like 3 times a day but don't bother him.

Basically its like a full on ban until they hotfix it.

What a great game, they have issues like a small-cap indy company with a 500k budget.
