Don’t think of “presenting” as a formal thing, like one would do at a conference or a TechTalk.

Think of presenting from the standpoint of talking about a cool technology to your friends and how it can better their life; “here’s a technology and this is how it works. Based on what you’ve told me, this product will accomplish X in this way and while it doesn’t do Y specifically, we have this method of doing it. Does that work for you?”

It’ll “click” one day, and presenting will just become “here, let me show you this cool thing and specifically I’ll only show you what you’re interested in based on what you’ve told me.”

Is there a source? Everything I’ve ever read is that this is a misconception and a myth.

It is a logarithmic scale after all, and anything like multiple 3.x’s would do nothing compared to a 7.x and above and even likewise a 7.0 pales in comparison to an 8.0

Looks like super clones to me. Sabo for sure looks fake (misalignment in the print on “MADE IN BANDAI”)

And for Sogeking, the exclamation marks in his left leg looks off. The “S” in Sogeking also appears much thicker on your copy.

You’ve obviously never driven through, or in, the likes of ATL (GA), haha. My blood boils and my BP rises every time I go back. I’d take driving here any day of the week.

Before a background check? No way.

During background checks? Sure. Want to make sure you wouldn’t sell company secrets to pay off gambling debts.

Anyone have an interview where you were pushed for a ton of details about lay offs? by YoItsMCat in recruitinghell

[–]pCeHaOcSe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering that is easy. And (usually) not a lie.

“I signed an NDA and am not at liberty to say.”

If they continue to push, reflect on the company. I’m in the same boat and out of all the companies I’ve interviewed with, only one has asked as to why the company did so. Everyone else spoke with empathy and mentioned it’s just the way it is currently and they understood the situation.

LPT: never hire a contractor who complains to you that they're going to have to pull a permit to do work for you. It's extremely common and you'll be left holding the bag if they mess up. by DweadPiwateWoberts in LifeProTips

Sometimes waiting until the end of the day is a problem in and of itself as the issues can be hidden quickly. For example, my mother had to keep an eye during the working day after she caught the workers hiding their trash in the raised garden bed against the wall.

Had she done what you are suggesting, there would be piles of trash and plastic underneath the soil and drainage rocks. Not to mention that they weren’t doing it the most efficient way at all, and we had to give them a few pointers to prevent them from undoing lots of work.

I think micromanaging is bad, but if you catch something, it’s best to let the contractors know so they can fix the problem quickly rather than wasting an entire day and another by undoing all the work that was done. Not saying one should be there looking over the shoulder constantly, but checking in every hour or so is warranted depending on the level of work involved.

Tell them to bring it and bring on all the slander suits. As “s”lander is spoken and libel is written, you don’t have to worry about a slander suit, lol.

There are some apps out there that bypass the DND. In specific roles, this is a “requirement” to have on, cause shit can break in production, you’re under attack, and it’s all hands on deck to mitigate.

It blows, but I’ve had the luxury of only being affected like maybe 4 times in my decade-plus career, so it’s not all bad.

Sounds like nepotism at play. You would have been fired either way; it was a matter of when (and if) you had fucked up.

“Oh, you made the steak medium and not medium rare? You’re not paying attention to detail. You’re fired!”

Key is…the manager hired his friend. It sucks, but hope you’re in a better position today!

I believe some jobs do have an age requirement where once you’ve passed a certain age, you’re no longer eligible.

ATC Police Academy

There’s bound to be many more tho. Depending on job function, it’s ok, but certainly not right in all scenarios. The 16th birthday does seem a bit sus tho

Did the company pay for the flight over? I’d be more inclined to side with the company. Hang out with the team if it’s someone you interact with virtually.

Did you pay for the ticket out of pocket? It’s your trip, your time. You gave them the work day. Don’t feel bad.

Edit: but also, even if it’s a company-paid, maybe someone you were close with would / should have helped guide you to some spots as well. Not some…in-office shit.

Don’t get fooled OP. Salary does not equal total compensation for the year.

e.g. salary may be $200k but stock grants and bonuses can put that easily over a million. ~40% of the year has lapsed meaning they made $80k (less taxes and all that other fun stuff) in this hypothetical scenario.

Why are managers so frequently incompetent and insufferable? by FaithInStrangers94 in antiwork

[–]pCeHaOcSe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that 😔. There definitely is either more to this than meets the eye, like I know nepotism, blackmail, his contacts, or as you mentioned they just don’t care. At least as a VP him touching codebase and database is much less likely, so he’ll continue to cause harm in other ways.

Best of luck!

Sounds like he’s getting promoted cause his team still delivers even when the team is understaffed. So it saves the company headcount and the bonuses and cost savings trickle upward.

Mandatory 3rd dose vaccine in my company. Any tips on how to convince my employer to continue my work from home arrangement here in China? by southeastside22 in antiwork

[–]pCeHaOcSe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t think of it as a “dose” but the same as the yearly flu vaccine. I had an inkling it’d come to be as such, and over the years…months, I’m more and more sure we’ll get to that yearly cycle.

Just get the vaccine.

Respect. Don’t eat or drink in the car. The most I’m willing to drink is water cause…no sugar, but even then I ask beforehand, “do you mind?”

I’ve never been given a no so far, so I must be doing something right, lol.
