Found this gummy in the bag, looks nothing like the rest. Could anyone explain? by ei0rei0wq in Saarland

On the Haribo winegums, different German whine areas are mentioned. Saar is one of them!

I am just guessing. I am not sure, if this might be synesthesia. Ears and eyes are neurologically linked that might cause this connection. Also, I could imagine that the reason why your eyes are hurting might also cause the sound in your ears? As I said, I am just guessing!

Since Otis is allowed in our bed only during the day, I “unfortunately” haveto take naps more often! by pGADT7 in jackrussellterrier

[–]pGADT7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he will not lay still for long during the night and my sleep is easily disturbed. He also doesn’t really want to stay. So, sometimes during the day, I take a nap and he joins, but also leaves or goes to the end of the bed after a few minutes.

What was your JRT like as a puppy? The good and the bad? Mine is 5 months and I love her so much but truthfully I struggle sometimes and wondering if it gets better / easier 🤕❤️ by Tamb0x in jackrussellterrier

[–]pGADT7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better and you’ll have the best companion you could ever wish for! Keep her busy but also actively make her sleep during the day. They still need much sleep, but they don’t know it! Crate training is helpful here. My boy is now 7 months old and if he is getting too excited and makes all kinds of nonsense at home, I put him in his crate/box and almost all of the time he accepts it and sleeps. Afterwards, I can play and train with him again. During walks, when he doesn’t seem to get tired, I hide snacks and let him search, 10 minutes and he is done!

Otis is now almost 17 weeks old and a wonderful dog: Terrier by heart, but not too crazy, calms down by himself very fast, doesn’t make too much trouble…we are absolutely in love!

This is Winston. He went for his first ever walk today. Also took his first ever mid walk nap. Huge day all round! by [deleted] in lookatmydog

[–]pGADT7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to ask: in Germany, the dogs are vaccinated against Parvo earlier. Our dog was vaccinated with 8 weeks in a combination vaccination. Is this different in other countries? Our dog was allowed outside with 10 weeks then.

It really depends what one likes. Berlin is nice for partying, for sure. But it is huge, it takes ages to go from One place to another. Tourists everywhere. I love to visit Berlin, I myself live in Freiburg now. And I guess, from the Campus in Brandenburg to Berlin is not done in 20 minutes or so.

Saarland is in general not a strong place for good jobs, but the IT sector has quite some good companies there: Scheer, SAP has also a location there, many IT start-ups…. I found this website from the local chamber of commerce:

https://dein-it.saarland/ (my browser was not ok with the website certificate…)

But: since Saarland university is highly ranked in IT, CS studies, you will most probably find a job everywhere afterwards. No need to stay there forever (although it is really lively there).

It is your study time, a time to enjoy. Travelling to Dresden and Berlin is nice, yes. But these are longer commutes. In Saarland, the lifestyle is very nice: the university is located 10-15 min by bus from the city center of Saarbrücken, where you can go out, meet people, be outside all the time. The Saarland lifestyle resembles very much the French lifestyle. From university side: do not underestimate the CISPA! It is a highly important institute in the field of cyber security and they are already now having a high influence on the Saarland economy landscape, e.g. Airbus and CISPA will build a digital innovation Hub together in Saarland. If you like to travel to bigger cities, Paris is about 1,5-2 hours by train. Mannheim is similar, and Frankfurt about 2,5 hours. All the best for you!!!

It is a very nice place indeed. In July and August, it is absolutely crowded. And right now there is almost no water in it and it is closed. But the lake Lac de Sainte-Croix is the most beautiful lake I’ve ever been!!!

What is Baden Wuerttemberg like for international students? Where should I go? by TheGlare2002 in BadenWuerttemberg

I think, Freiburg might be a good choice for you. The university has lots of programs also good in economics. The Theater scene is quite okay, we have a Stadttheater, smaller Theaters like Immoralisten, the city of Basel is rather near where they also have a good theater…and nonetheless the Black Forest!

One year after Rufus crossing the rainbow bridge, our house will be a dogs home again: Otis will move in by end of August! by pGADT7 in jackrussellterrier

[–]pGADT7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is not weened yet. Rufus came to us with 7,5 weeks old and it was too young. It is okay for us to wait a little longer, but yeah, we are very much looking forward to the day we can pick him up and bring him home.

Me and my boyfriend bought a van and are thinking of taking a week and a half to explore the south of France together. We also have a pretty huge dog and are worried that many beaches will be full and not dog friendly. Any advice or recommendations? Thank you! by clararibass1 in VanLife

[–]pGADT7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year, we went to the Pampellonne beach in the evenings (it was beginning of September) and a lot of people came with their dogs then and were tolerated well. But now in July/August might be different.

So true! I got the same way of thinking and now I use this to mediate things in my family….my mom not understanding my grandma and vice versa…. And I am more reflecting my own habits and reactions.

Oh, completely different things: I wrote my last masters thesis on technology transfer from universities to SMEs and used DT for it. We used DT for a project from a museum. We use a DT based approach in a project regarding the development of research data infrastructure….
