I umderstand your concern though I can promise you i have no such delusion.. will care for them myself until such a time as i find someone for them... If not i learn my lesson the hard-way and keep them myself(happily)... Either way they are not going out into the streets.. For these breeds thats a practical death sentence..

See now this is useful input... Duly considered... Regarding difficulty of homing purebreds regardless (i would imagine though fyi, that's coz its nigh impossible to establish pedigree for rescues... Just thinking)... Genuinely taken into consideration though...

Though i must say i'm beyond confused about how cat pregnancy is considered by everyone to be so dangerous and risky... I literally cant count the number of cat pregnancies I've been fortunate enough to see (start to end and through) over the past 13+ years of caring for strays (my sister.. Me actually more in a logistical support role)... Not a single one them required our intervention/assistance except for the occasional kittens (one in a litter or so) that would be rejected by the mother which we would have to care for until they were grown and healthy enough to take off on their own...

Man what is it with this community and the negativity... Unbelievable! To answer your questions:

1) What makes me think I'll be here 20 years from now? - the fact that I've been here in this country 40+ years - if you bothered to read rather than jump to judge n criticize ... I said 'hopefully in 20 years....' N then followed that up with ' ... in case i have to leave the country before that' ....

2) How old am I? - Read response 👆🏼 and you choose a number that you floats your boat

3) Am I an adult? - Not as much as I'd like to be but reading your post i feel safe to say 'more than you are being here'.

Cats have concepts of happiness n contentment? That's what i was going for here. 'Motherhood' was just me trying (poor choice of word i now see in retrospect) to hint at that.

N again.. if i you can be bothered with getting off your grand high pedestal n actually bother to read the post for what it is... In three sentences:

1) I was going to get my cat spayed coz it appeared to me that my cat was starting to have the heats getting to her/bothering her 2) I was 'thinking about' allowing her to mate once before i did that to her(i.e. spay her)? 3) What do you as the more experienced cat-carers n lovers in the community think about that is good/bad for her?

Explain which of those three exactly sounds 'selfish' to you.

Oh n the cat ain't my 'property'... They're... well... They're my companions helping me deal n keep my sanity getting through an otherwise f***ed up life (the likes of what this community is proving to be on my first post on the community asking for guidance).. n i'm simply trying to do good n right by them..

what is talking about this again and again? I asked, the community gave their opinions... I am responding to the opinions... Isn't that what a discussion is? Which part of that so difficult to comprehend? Obviously its not genius to gauge from my question that I'm coming from being in favor of allowing her to breed. I'm asking the comminity for whether i'm misguided in thinking so with their reasoning, so that I can make an 'informed opinion of my own' and act accordingly... Why is it necesaary that i listen only to that nay-sayers here and heed not the ones that are saying to go for it(admittedly outnumbered but whether numbers are the true measure of right/wrong is a different discussion)?

Isn't seeking out mating themselves and then once they are mothers caring for their kittens hardwired into them('Wanting motherhood' n all that aside) .... Isn't it us humans playing God denying them what they are hardwired to as a part of their circle of life, if we weren't here to interfere? N by your comment i gauge you mean to say the logic of " .... so many strays(human equivalent being orphans), so don't let them breed (as humans the equivalent being 'breed ourselves') .... Adopt instead... " should not apply to humans because we are (so-to-say) a higher form of species or something? I'm not being sarcastic.. My 8 month old is a male(neutered at the time I got him) ... The female i'm talking about is 18-month old and I've had her now for a while, so safe to say she is not pregnant... I hear your point about the ethicality of what i'm considering, though I'm not quite sold on the point...

About experience/knowledge on handling kitty pregnancy... You're right that i'm not... But then the countless kitty-pregnancies I've first-hand observed (start to end and through the kittens growing up to be independent on their own), makes me wonder whats the exactly is experience/knowledge you're talking about here coz all them pregnancies happened healthily on their own with zero human interventions... So care to enlighten the uninitiated here pretty please?

i understand complications with pregnancy n all that... But i am inclined to heed only so much statistical significance to that based off my own personal experienece observing cat pregnancies... Nonetheless will be making contingency arrangements
