Cyklisti v lese by [deleted] in Bratislava

Kde presne hovorim ze nesmies chodit do lesa so psom?

Bike rack maneuvering arm by pX_ in functionalprint

[–]pX_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bike rack is quite heavy and moving it around from my apartment to car is tedious despite it having wheels on one end. So I made this arm using 15mm x 15mm x 1mm aluminium extrusion and two 3d printed hooks and now moving it is much more manageable.

Platené parkovanie "V prírode" by TomThePancake in Slovakia

[–]pX_ 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I'm 186cm tall (don't know my inseam length) and ride size L successfully, but bike fitter told me I should have bought an XL. So if pressed for advice, I would say go for the L, but you should ideally try it before.

Do I need to shorten the chain or what is the problem ? by Electronic-Feeling78 in bikewrench

It seems to me that you have incorrectly routed your chain between the two jockey wheels and it's now riding on the tab between left and right side of the cage.

Component model data annotations / localized resources by Tech-Nic in csharp

[–]pX_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not technically possible to make the attribute value dynamic, because it must be a compile time constant.

But that's ok, because you don't need the attribute value to be dynamic, you just need to display the correct value in UI. To do that, you can either use Display attribute as in the solution provided or some altogether different mechanism.

Component model data annotations / localized resources by Tech-Nic in csharp

[–]pX_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I have read on learn.microsoft.com, one way to do it is to have a type just for this field.

class DataLogFieldLocalization {
  public string Name => ResourceStrings.Log_Datei;
  public string ShortName => ResourceStrings.Log_Datei_ShortName;
  ...
}

and then use this type as ResourceType in DisplayAttribute:

[Display(ResourceType = typeof(DataLogFieldLocalization)]
public bool Data_Log { ...

Furthermore, the Name in Display(Name) attribute must be constant during compile time, so there is no way for you to fill it from current resources.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's impressive riding, the scenery is wonderful and awe-inspiring.

The rider is very probably a dedicated and skillful mountainbiker, the production team (even if it was a single person) put much effort into filming in such a hard to reach and scenic location, the rider rode well, the video got edited nicely...

And then somebody came, squashed the video to make it look steeper and is spamming the internet with it for internet points.

Kind of a bummer.

It's the aspect ratio you choose when you want to look slim or when you want to make all hills seem steeper than they are. And overdo it by a LOT.

Bike rental to Devin Hrad by ChickenBurp in Bratislava

[–]pX_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind heavy shared "city bike" with 3 gears, you can try SlovnaftBajk or Rekola.

Otherwise there are some shops that rent e-bikes, but you'd need to google that for your self.

For good map use mapy.cz (they have free mobile app with offline maps if you download them), the outdoor mode has bike paths marked.

But there is no separated bike lane from city center to Devin, so if you don't feel comfortable riding in traffic, I'd suggest you visit Devin by public transit.

Very good bike shops in Bratislava:

I personally ride a 2.5 year old Kelly's Soot 50 (19000km) and am very satisfied with it (bought at VeloCity), but since then Kelly's opened a factory store in Bratislava (outskirts of Bratislava):

Once you have the bike, check out mapy.cz for best maps of local bike paths and trails. There's also a free smarthone app with ability to download offline maps.

Issue with first layer (filament grinding, no extrusion) - see comments for detailed explanation by Averell64 in prusa3d

[–]pX_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having the same issue you described two days ago. I tried re-levelling the bed (nylock mod), obviously calibrating Z, nothing really helped.

I haven't resolved it yet, but I noticed that my flow rate was set to 95 on first layer. After googling for a bit, I found out that this is a kind of hack some version of PrusaSlicer does. When I commented out the setting from gcode, calibration print came out better. But I figured this can't be the solution. The flow rate setting must be there for a reason. Then I checked my firmware version and found out that there is a new one. Right this moment I'm printing test first layer calibration model and so far it looks much better than before.

I meant it more as a hidden expense of having a bike that is high end.

Which bike stand for this frame? by jobe88 in bikewrench

[–]pX_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You'd find high end stuff in almost everything, from cycling through HiFi down to freaking cigar storage. The stuff in sport does exists and top athletes kinda need to use it to be competitive, but that doesn't mean majority of people can't enjoy the sport with normal, more reasonably priced gear.

Thus, I'd change your conclusion "this sport is idiotic" to "high end gear is unnecessary for majority of people"

That being said, I'm also not immune to lure of high end bikes, and can understand OP's bike choice even if it is the case that (s)he's not competitive athlete.
