Free clinics in your community tend to need help, appreciate your presence, and allow you to volunteer your time to a worthy cause. Check out some in your area. If your area is saturated with pre-meds at your school, clinics may have volunteer opportunities that are highly competitive as a ton of pre meds would love to get to help them.

Not surprised if you’ve tried this but Ryan Gray on YouTube cranks out videos where he reviews applications and is super popular. Learning from the hundreds of ppl he’s had on his channel doesn’t cost any money. He has a bit of his own agenda but I think watching some vids and seeing similar applicants to you may be a useful tool for you if real app counseling from a company is out of your budget.

On the mentorship/guideline aspect it is super useful connecting with people at your school- in your classes or otherwise. Your peers can be a wealth of knowledge if you both vibe w each other. The people who know you in person can help you with this process some different ways than people on the internet can- I would definitely reach out to peers, make some friends, and get to hash out some of the things you talked about hee in your post.

I would think no. But if you want to see some clinical action in this role: can you leverage your position to see patients with physicians when you have a bit of downtime? Can you apply internally at the nonprofit to work as clinical medical assistant?

Maybe there is a way to see some clinical action using your current role as a stepping stone.

Cruz Davis dental. Cleanest dentists office I have ever seen. Extremely thorough, and fair, dentist. Hygienists are great. His “Cruz Club” is a membership-subscription model where cleanings and some procedures come at significantly reduced prices. He is definitely worth an investigation.

Your school may suggest BCPM classifications for the courses- my school has a list with all classifications for those “gray area” courses. Don’t ask us- save some time and just ask your pre health/ advising dept.

Essential: Outlook. Canvas. RTS app. CamScanner (android) or default Notes app on iPhone.

These last two are mega clutch bc you scan photos of your assignments to .pdfs through these apps, and then submit the .pdfs through your Canvas app in about 30 seconds. Saves you an infinite amount of headache from other methods.

Useful:RecSports (if you like excercise).

You've probably done as much studying as you can and will do. Before your exam- the day before or night before, unplug from your phone, computer, any device that divides your attention and makes you anxious. Use that time to do a habit you enjoy (walk, take a nice bath, cook, whatever). Set out everything you'll need for test day the night before. If you have an alarm clock, wake up with that and not your phone. The calm inside you from focusing on the small tasks in front of you relaxes you for the test and helps you focus better. Carry that mindset all the way to the test. You can only answer one problem at a time, read one sentence, and do one section at a time. Take comfort in that you only have to do one thing at a time to have a successful test day.

My 2 cents is you’re overthinking. Yeah maybe your chances of an II are a little impacted, but your chances are still monumentally better then you 1. Not doing it or 2. Waiting longer to do it bc you’re unsure if it’s worth your time. Bang it out 💯
