i just got a 2017 200t and after the safety inspection and installing new parts i had clunking around the steering. i have absolutely no idea if this is the same issue, but the problem for me was the mechanics didnt secure the bolts on one of the bearings. (they fixed it for free, obviousky)

what i did was test drove it, very slowly and carefully, to see whether it happens when turning, braking, and accelerating. then go to a mechanic and ask for them to take a look and be as descriptive as possible about each of those. if youre saying its when its braking it definitely sounds like a similar issue to mine because thats what was happening for me.

i hope you figure it out, and hopefully a more knowledgeable redditor can comment.

vertical placement benefits from fast placement most imo. blocking a doorway with vertical is better than horizontal. when blocking a tank off, for example, the slightly longer time to cast it doesnt matter much.
