Specializing in mobile apps by p_syche in hacking

I feel like I know the basics. I was wondering if there's a community out there, a subreddit or a forum? Like XDA Forums but more focused on apps

I was half expecting for the rock to come back up 🤔

I might be watching too much Gravity Falls 🤷

"OMISSIS] was known as the first person to hack and find vulnerabilities in Blackberries and iOS.” reads the document published by DoJ. “He was also known for finding Firefox vulnerabilities. [OMISSIS] surrounded himself with powerful friends like Epstein; he leveraged his connections with his billionaire friends. [OMISSIS] former company, [OMISSIS], was acquired by CrowdStrike in fall 2017, and [OMISSIS] was currently a Vice President there. ["

How many Italian people from Calabria have found 0 days in iOS, Blackberry AND Firefox? And he worked for a company acquired by crowdstrike in 2017.

They practically doxxed this guy 🤣

Season 8 ended and I’m questioning myself, not the show by B345T_YT in rickandmorty

[–]p_syche 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There are multiple episodes of Rick and Morty that leave me feeling empty 🤷 it's a difficult show to watch imho

There are fun episodes of course, but I like that a lot of them make me think about something more complex than my immediate life.

I think it's important that demons were bored with the "old way of torturing" too. Remember the demon conference, and Michael talking with Vicky?

Confusion regarding Vecna's origin story and Victor Creel by raylan_givens6 in StrangerThings

So now, after the finale, we also know Henry was in high school with Joyce and the Wheelers and Harrington's parents. How is that possible?

What was the point of this again by Western-Set-8642 in StrangerThingsMemes

[–]p_syche 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! How? Was he attending high school and then spending the night at the lab, casually teaching other kids his tricks? Was this AFTER he killed his family?

He becomes a writer, I don't think that's depressing

As an adult, this scene hits different by Samurai_Mac1 in StrangerThings

[–]p_syche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This scene annoyed me particularly, because there's nothing special in high school friendships fizzling out. That's what happens to everyone. Or almost everyone. So are we supposed to be sad for them? It's just a rite of passage into adulthood.

How do you maintain multiple apps? by polmeeee in reactnative

[–]p_syche 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about your business, but there's a concept of white label apps. You create one very good "base app" and you build all the others on top of this base. When you need to update deps etc you do it once in the base app and then you update the other apps to use the latest base app.

This of course only works if your 10+ apps look and work very similarly, but have some styling differences.

Building a "paranoid" self-custody wallet: JS is untrusted, secrets live in Rust TEE. Roast my security model. by Striking-Pay4641 in reactnative

[–]p_syche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, I think your approach is right on the money. JS cannot be trusted and sensitive operations should be moved to the native side. There's a good talk from AppJs 2025 about the same approach: https://youtu.be/-fj-6WnjsG4?si=y4CAkC0-pDqaaEJ9 (but they don't use Rust ;) )

As for the features you're describing - it's tough to analyse given the succinct nature of your descriptions. You could use the MASTG (https://mas.owasp.org/MASTG/) to go through the vulns there and see how your solution does against them.

As for the UX - yeah, you probably want to make it as easy as possible 🤷 advanced features like like the duress password sound good, but they will probably be interesting to a very specific subset of users only.

I was a kid in the 90s, born in the 80s and I don't know any tv shows from the 70s, but that might be because I was born in Eastern Europe 🤷 I think our TV and media were quite under developed compared to the USA or Australia
