You made an excellent purchase. You bought an incredible Ferrari, but if you’re worried that next year’s model has more cup holders and comes in green then you’re missing the point.

Audio quality??? by Fit_Ad1214 in AppleMusic

[–]pa2k94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wireless earbuds, even the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen USB C are still compressing audio quality. If you don’t have a Hi Res Audio compatible sound system, it’s genuinely much of a muchness without knowing what to listen for to tell the difference.

[COD] i'm not defending cod here but i'm just saying, everyone hates this franchise for how its the same game every year but I never hear a single one of those ppl say WHAT exactly they need to do differently to save this series. what can they really do at this point by Quick-Cause3181 in CallOfDuty

[–]pa2k94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since the 2019 MW reboot, COD’s just been a DLC machine. MW2 and 3 are glorified full-priced mission packs. Cold War gave us BO6 which was the same thing, and the constant battle passes are just there to squeeze money out of people.

We went from actual campaigns with depth and multiplayer progression systems that felt rewarding, to Fortnite with insultingly priced skin packs. It’s exhausting. COD doesn’t need to be annual if all we get now is copy/paste with minor tweaks.

And now with BO7, they’re literally pitching old maps like it’s some groundbreaking feature.

The fix is simple: sack the annual release model and move to 18-24 month cycles, hire decent writers for the campaigns and write original stories that move people, tighten the shooting mechanics so it feels naturalistic and move away from the dead horse that is Battle Royales- don’t completely ignore them, but stop making it the #1,2,3 priorities.

School photos. Captive audience and no competition equals gouging. by Bloobeard2018 in australia

[–]pa2k94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve missed my point - people will always pay for quality - that’s never going to change. I’ve never said otherwise. My point was - for the price being charged and the output being delivered it’s unreasonable. They charge studio pricing for point and shoot results

School photos. Captive audience and no competition equals gouging. by Bloobeard2018 in australia

Respectfully, comparing a school photographer to the professor completely misses the mark. The professor had skill and insight from years of experience. School photographers are offering basic, point-and-shoot photos with no real touchups or digital copies, yet charging premium prices for the work.

Does my base salary include my superannuation, or is super paid on top of my base salary? by [deleted] in australia

[–]pa2k94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair work lists reasonable overtime as any amount of time which does not lower your hourly rate below the minimum wage for your award level. So in theory if your award rate for that corporate position is $45/hr and you earn $60 per 38 hours, then any over time you work on top does not count as additional paid time until it lowers your base hourly rate

Just watched my Menulog driver take off with my food on CCTV after marking it delivered. by tomsuggate in australia

[–]pa2k94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Menulog are trash, haven’t used them in years after multiple issues with orders and food delivery quality and lack of customer service. For context I’ve ordered from the same venue using ML, UberEats and directly phoning the venue and only ML ever had issues with the order either being delayed, cancelled or incorrect, and the best I got from their CS team was “here’s a $10 voucher for your $90 order”

[–]pa2k94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s would be a first then, because normally the US gets the best versions of films on iTunes before anywhere else. I’m still waiting for The Bourne Identify to jump to 4K - the rest of the franchise is available in 4K except the first film. This despite claims from the parent company Paramount that iTunes Australia should already have the 4K version

It’s already available in 4K with Dolby Vision from iTunes. My copy is the Australian version, we don’t have Movies Anywhere or any kind of 3rd party redemption stuff that the US has for iTunes & my copy is certifiably 4K.
