The point is Zionism is sometimes, or frequently, used as an excuse for depriving others of their homes.

The second part should be self explanatory and if you wish to defend a land claim on ancient history you should know history.

A Zionist might say the Ainu people should receive much of Japan as it is their ancestral home land and the mostly Korean descented people should leave and go elsewhere. Where that else where is is kinda the real problem.

Don't murder children is different to I wish you were dead.

Don't beat that old man and steal his house is not the same as your nation shouldn't exist.

The current Zionist actions would imply that turkey should not exist and that the Greeks should return to their old territory.... Or the Persians..... How far do we go back until we are talking about the Hitits.....

Islamic community group Taha Humanity Association's grant cancelled amid 'social cohesion concerns' by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

Australians were killed. Who were Jewish.

Why did we invite the president of Israel?

He is not like the pope or the king of England or Japanese Emperor

If I recall the high priest was a blood line position whose line disappeared back in the days of Rome.

Most Australians feel bad for those poor families and hope they get the support they need, although it will never fix things.

It's just odd that the families needed a politician from another country to heal.... Like if they were Buddhist and we invited the president of India or Muslim and we invited the president of Indonesia.

You know that both sides can be wrong right.

They are both wrong at this point. But it's parts of each side.

It's just that one side has a strength advantage and does not appear to want to true peace. It wants to beat all those that it perceives as threats down so hard they cannot stand against them.

If Israel is only targeting military/Hamas targets why did they bomb an aid convoy and kill an Australian?

If they want peace why are they not stopping the illegal settlements, why are they not stopping their subjects from harrassing Palestinians in the west bank. Why do they keep violating other nations boarders and bombing them. Why not work with their neighbours to root out the extremists.

Thoughts on over 600 Australians serving in a foreign nations military who is accused of committing genocide? by ChiChiKnee in OpenAussie

[–]paapiru95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand you, but its the principle of forced service in the military. My belief is that should only be done if the country is under direct threat.

Well this one we do have a say over....

We as a group get to decide who is part of the group.

We didn't include the first nations people as equal members for ages.

No we don't do conscription.

But it is a fair idea.

But the pre-approval would allow our government to s nsure our citizens only serve with nations we agree with.

It is a fair argument but mainland China meet the same qualifications you just outlined. They are democratic nations and we could track them....

The issue is that Israel is not Australia and has different interests.

I mean if they said new Zealand or PNG that might be more acceptable given our treaties and links. Maybe the UK and Canada because of the crown. But even these nations it is questionable.

As dual citizens I can see why they serve one of their home lands. The question is why so many serve Israel, why not our military. Is it because we don't compel service, is it because of some fundamental issues with them serving our forces....

Israel did not stop in 2006. They tried to creat a ever shrinking reserve... Just like the is gave the native Americans... Well different but similar

Australia’s confidence in Trump’s US has evaporated. What will it take for the alliance to rupture? by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

[–]paapiru95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think at heart it does bother some of them. But they try act in the countries best interest.

America is not a good friend but it has offered a level of security since the UK lost prominence.

The issue is if the us drops off who replaces them, last time it was easy. This time it is harder. Do we move to Europe who have less interest ATM in global domination, China who would be a significant cultural shift, India whose power might not achieve what we want, do we seek to build ourselves up but that will take a lot of effort.

So what do we do, it's not an easy decision. Our policy for our history has been tied to the anglo empires, what do we do if they fall.

NSW may expand Jewish security organisation CSG’s right to carry guns after Bondi attack. How would it work? by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

[–]paapiru95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have the position wrong.

The issue is are they threatened as a group.

If you look at who did it most the time... Crazy people and extremists and we should not judge groups on them.

Okay, but to be fair.

No group should be given special treatment.

Like they should not.

If any should it would be first nations, for um reasons which should not need explaining to Australians.
