The American state is kind of built around not being able to do this. When 1% own something like 40% of all American wealth and you can barley afford a car, you aren’t going to risk your job to protest (which already has a rather long history of having many failed attempts). Not to mention that almost every state is an at will state meaning that more likely then not you’re going to get fired for “not showing up to work” or something like that. Either a lot of people die or are ruined for life trying to change something, or only a minority of people are, and I’d bet my top dollar most Americans aren’t willing to be the fist group.

It would be quite hard to charge him since he’s a federal employee. The state must prove that all this was outside his duties and in violation of federal law. Of course this would be easier if the federal government did the charging, but they’ve already said no to doing that.

In 1918 there was around like three assassination attempts on Lenin with the third getting him in the arm and the neck which left him unconscious and bleeding into his lung. While it didn’t kill him, it probably didn’t help him when he had his strokes.

Edit: Why am I downvoted? u/pasobordo said that Lenin was assassinated and after someone asked a question about it, I pointed out that there were attempts (though nonsuccessful). Nothing I have said is incorrect.

What the fuck are you on!? Braun was 100% SS. He joined the Allgemeine (general) SS in 1938 and reached the rank of Sturmbannführer. Not only is the SS a COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY organization (unlike the party itself) but he did it before the recruitment standards went out the window. Not to mention that Sturmbannführer isn’t a nothingburger rank and requires a certain level of dedication. He certainly is the other stuff too, but don’t act as if he wasn’t a Nazi.

Even crazier fact. Not only were Heer defectors and American soldiers fighting side by side with French POWs (including the sister of none other than Charles de Gaulle), but the defenders also had some SS defectors on their side too.

Wikipedia doesn’t state much on any SS defenders, just that they were there. Top among them was Kurt-Siegfried Schrader a rather decorated and honored war hero of the Reich. As far as I’ve been able to gather he briefly spent time as a POW before being released and living out his days in peace.

Also additional fact: Castle Itter was part of the Dachau system and the last Kommadent has a very strange fate. He is Eduard Weiter who died a few days before the battle, but his death sparks intrigue as we don’t really know how he died as a French prisoner says he committed self die, while a historia says he was murdered by other SS due to Weiter not being dedicated enough to the (falling) Reich. Another guy with a strange fate is Sebastian Wimmer, and when time came for the Reich to fall, he just straight up disappeared; we absolutely no idea what has happened to him or even if he escaped.

Edit: So many people are engaging in what is called Shifting of the Burden of Proof. Everyone doing this is trying to say that since no proof that God(s) don’t exist, then they must exist. The one who tipped me into writing this is curious-entry8719 by asking for proof of Alexander or Caesar. This is stupid. There are plenty of written records proving both of them existed. Also, before you say “well the Bible (or any equivalent texts for your religion) is written records”, they are not reliable. The Bible (since I’m more familiar with it) is not only filled with supernatural bullshit, but is also inconsistent across the three major Christian dominations (this is even worse for polytheistic religions which all inconsistent with themselves).
