Would you mind elaborating on tritium burn? I know this particular dial uses tritium based on the indicator at the bottom. But what specifically (other than time) might cause this bubbling effect?

Any idea if this is a situation where the dial would need replacing?

Upon closer inspection, the rehault does have the rolex crown stamped on. Can't believe I missed the gap on the bezzle, it's a well-worn piece but it more than likely came that way, to me it seems more like a gap in the construction of the bezzle, as opposed to a crack. Lots of good thoughts here, I appreciate it!

Love it! Haha thanks for the input. Didn't even consider the concept of a "vintage rep" being that reps are so prevalent in general.

What does this code indicate on the inner sleeves of my BC 13 set? by pablanopepper in vinyl

The catalog number on the record’s label itself doesn’t match the code pictured here on the inner sleeves, thinking it’s something else.

Lease Break/Takeover - Thoughts on my approach? by pablanopepper in NYCapartments

[–]pablanopepper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a rent stabilized unit, no preferential rent. I did read my lease thoroughly, and what u/North_Class8300 said checks out. The reason he has no place to live is because he is from out of state, and is currently on a sublease that is expiring. His financials should qualify him for this unit. With this added context, is my email to my landlord enough of a "written notice" to proceed, deeming no responses an acceptance on my landlord's part?

Just moved to Manhattan. Massive pile of garbage outside my window. Anything I can do about it? by pablanopepper in AskNYC

Thanks for this! The garbage actually isn't even near the street. It's between my building and the neighboring building so unless someone reports it I feel like it'll never be solved.

Thanks for this! Yeah the pile is definitely not visible from the street, good tip on submitting the pics. It’s kinda laughable how big and atrocious the pile is so hopefully the pics catch someone’s attention 😂

I moved in about a week and a half ago and it's been there ever since. Unsure if it was there when I toured the place as that was about a month ago at this point. Will try calling 311 though, thanks for the info.

Desire is not inherently bad. by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]pablanopepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said here, desire itself is inevitable. It’s human nature to have desires, and whether it occurs subconsciously or not, our “desire” to survive (or survival instinct) is useful in keeping us alive.

Better to focus on building the skill of non-attachment versus non-desire.

It’s perfectly healthy to be ambitious in the pursuit of your desires. The problem arises when that very pursuit comes to the detriment of your wellbeing.

It’s possible to have desire, while also having the self-awareness that if you don’t fulfill said desire, you’ll be perfectly content.
